If I am not mistaken, the Sparrow has SS clamshells but the monocore is aluminum.

Be careful how long you leave the monocore in an ultrasonic.
An ultrasonic can eat through aluminum foil in minutes...it may pit the monocore if you leave it in too long.

Here is a guide on cleaning aluminum, in an ultrasonic.
The SilencerCo Sparrow is made totally of stainless steel.

I ran across a thread on the hide for a concoction of 50/50 white vinegar/hydrogen peroxide.

Did some searching & saw it listed elsewhere as well, supposed to be safe for SS.

Any reason not to try it?

Ya pays ya money and ya takes ya chances. Got this from the internet.
"Don't mix hydrogen peroxide and vinegar together in the same mixture. This can create peracetic acid, which may be toxic and can irritate your throat and lungs, eyes and skin."
It also should be disposed of properly because afterwards you'll have a mixture of peracetic acid and lead.
