You and me both. Same with the "patina" look. I can handle some of it if we are talking about some thin paint, but rusted out body panels and calling that "patina". No thanks.I just can’t wrap my head around the rat rod thing. More power to them as it is a solid movement but ugh.
I'm with you. I get the stripped down car for performance reasons. I can understand if a guy doesn't spend big money on serious paint work. But there are so many aspects of the rat rod that I just don't understand. Seems to me like so many better, easier and more effective or efficient ways to build a car without so much improvisation. Oh and how do some of these rat rods ever manage to get plated and insured?I just can’t wrap my head around the rat rod thing. More power to them as it is a solid movement but ugh.

Truth but anything car related is good I guess. Those cats are serious. A few of my friends have delved into this.I've always thought it played better in the area of motorcycles...but mileage varies.

Hey man, you're insulting my truck now! So I guess silver duct tape covering the holes in my back bumper are right out, huh?You and me both. Same with the "patina" look. I can handle some of it if we are talking about some thin paint, but rusted out body panels and calling that "patina". No thanks.
But those that know me, would expect this.
Make that 4 of us, I grew up in a house where everything was worn out, beat up junk, in neighborhoods that were the same. I worked really hard to have stuff that was clean, undented and in good condition, and at least not completely worn out.You and me both. Same with the "patina" look.
