Set the 5 gal bucket half full of water with bird seed on top two weeks ago. Had 8 the next day, a record catch. Set two days ago again and had 4 today. Best count for a season is 36 as I recall.
I know a couple of people that only kill what they eat. I think we all know where I am going with this. I have been told they are tasty and more tender than squirrel. As fast as they reproduce I think we could be looking at a new sustainable food source.
There father/grandfather did not have the same view on them but did drown them in a bucket. He was retired and had a lot of time on his hands. It was always fun to go the their house and open the garage freezer. He always had a nice little frozen community in there doing all kinds of fun activities until trash day at which time the town was cleared out and recruitment for the new village was started.
