Yet another attempt to "limit the franchise". With no criteria given for what constitutes "an unsafe firearm", I wonder how well this will hold up in court.

That list left all of 4 guns in existence off... yet one more de-facto "handgun ban." Here is hoping this gets slapped down very quickly.

So if a bad guy gets caught with one of these unsafe guns, will he get extra charges?

No, knowing Chicago he'll probably get praised for leading an LEO to a SNS. Seriously though, society is better off without Jennings, Davis, Lorcin, etc. They're made of cheap metal and poorly designed. The dealer I valunteered for would not stock Hi-Point products though he would order them in if a customer wished to purchase one. To my knowledge he didn't stock any of the other SNS in the past either. Broken firing pins are the norm with SNS. SNS beat themselves to death, especially the centerfire ones. I've stripped plenty of SNS that had deformed internals.

I didn't recognize most of those manufacturers but my guess is that they would like to limit "cheap" guns or what they call "saturday night specials." Most that live in ghettos can't afford a nice $1000+ 1911.

Most all of those, with the exception of the Hi-Point, Davis, Jennings etc, are old top breaks and single actions, dating from the 1850's to the early 1900's. These things were not too good when they were new let alone now.

I hate to say it but I gotta agree with the list as far as having a gun of good quality to defend yourself with. I am NOT including the inclusion of the P-22 or the Mosquito, God knows how they came to put those on the list!:dunno:

It's a wonder you don't see Glock, S+W, Ruger, SIG and the others we know and carry.

I imagine there are lots of these old top breaks and what some call SNS's hidden in homes in Chicago, left over from the old old days, but they are not a good choice for self defense. Folks would be better off with a single shot shotgun.
