More than likely they’ve been OR’d. I didn’t see anything that would indicate that they should’ve been kept longer than they actually were. And how long were the held at the jail? If like most of these "peaceful protests" probably minutes.

I’ve noticed the quality of the news media has tumbled severely over the last few years. I’m no Steinbeck or Poe when it comes to writing but it’s not my profession either. These people are clearly a product of the education system ruined by years of mismanagement and getting away from the Three Rs in favor of a more liberal and woke curriculum.
Let's see if charges are filed for the handgun.
BLM-Antifa Rioters Target Upscale Restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky, At Least One Protester Is Armed! - Restaurant Patron Pulls a Pistol! (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit | by Joe Hoft
BLM and/or Antifa goons targeted an upscale restaurant in Louisville restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky this evening. The patrons were having none of it as they faced the mob and taunted them like, ‘Come on, Let’s go!” The man in the blue shirt looks like he just pulled a pistol out of his...www.thegatewaypundit.com
Four arrests were made but we don’t know it it was from this particular group. They arrested three of the protesters.
I too carried a .22 mag. pistol as a backup, but it was a last ditch deal. Mine was double action, too. I wouldn't want anyone to have to use one as a primary defense weapon. It would be tragic to shoot someone with a .22 rimfire and have them return fire with several shots from a centerfire handgun and ruin their day. The weapon in question is very difficult to shoot and hit with and greatly underpowered. I stand by my belief that it is inadequate as a primary self-defense weapon. If it's "all you had" then it's all on you for making that decision in the first place. There are plenty of small, lightweight centerfire handguns on the market these days that can be carried nearly unnoticed by the carrier and totally unnoticed by the public.I’ve carried a NAA 22 Magnum in a pocket holster for years. It is strictly a backup to a larger gun or when I can’t/don’t want to have a gun on my hip. It is in my pocket 99% of the time and only removed when I am forbidden by Federal Law to have it. People underestimate the power of a 22 Magnum and its lethality. I’ve never had to draw it, or any other gun, in self defense and pray I never have to, but it is comforting knowing it’s there. It’s much better at holding off felonious thugs than a salad fork.
I mean. He seems to be pointing that little rimfire like he's seen on TV. Like it's his magic shield. I'm not saying those things are worthless, but that I think it's a last resort sort of tool. It's not a "let's get it on" kind of tool. One of the Antifa assholes was OC'ing what was probably at least a 9mm. Dude probably should not have been pointing the .22 at anyone.I'm sure that those who dwell in Indy aren't familiar with the goings on down here. Murder and felonious assaults are nearly a daily occurrence in Louisville. The administrations (past and present) have been liberal forever. The LMPD is currently under investigation by the feds (since the current administration took office in DC). There is very low morale among the police and I'm sure that with the latest chief of police there is an order to stand down and not confront protesters. Anyone who pulls a single-action .22 rimfire revolver to confront a mob has had too many mint juleps.
I think this thread is a very appropriate place to discuss the goods and bads of how that guy handled things. Sure, we can complain about the gun/caliber he chose to carry. But also we can talk about how he chose to deploy it. Probably if you're just carrying a .22 you don't point it at people and say cowboy words. From a ballistics point of view I 100% agree with you. From a psychological point of view....who really knows. Most people don't want to get shot. The mere display of a firearm could dissuade someone from doing something.
Brings up a question though, if one of us who "know" better were confronted by a mob and a .22 rimfire caliber was all one had, would you at any point bring it into play?
For me that's a tough question to answer. At some point? yeah that is pretty easy....at which point? that gets a little harder. For this guy, he deployed it early, but it could have kept him alive, that is all in the hypothetical realm. Perhaps it kept any further forward motion from happening by the mob.
Not trying to totally derail this thread, but it is something to thing about, at least for me, when I consider judging the actions of the guy.
The real question is, why no 'pocket guns' in 5.7 x 28?Look up the ballistics of 22WMR. Energy wise its damn close to a .380 as I recall. I remember seeing that fact and thinking to myself "well, except for the relative unreliability of rimfires, Maybe a LCR in WMR isnt so bad after all... at least if it doesnt go boom (as rimfires oft do) just keep pulling the trigger till it goes boom again."
Would it be my first choice? Nope. Would I turn it down if the SHTF and somebody wanted to hand me one because thats all there was? Nope!
As I stated my lil pocket gun is strictly a back up, last ditch sort of gun. It’s for when all else fails and the bad guy is close, maybe even contact close. Lots can be debated about the weapon, the caliber, his deployment of said weapon and many other issues with this situation until we’re all blue in the face. He was trying to eat at a restaurant and was accosted by leftist thugs and did what he thought he had to do at the time. I’m not going to dissect it or be an armchair quarterback. It’s sad these things are increasing in this country and until we all unite and vote the leftist trash that want to destroy our country out of office we had better be prepared for crap like this to happen anywhere and at anytime. Please be safe and keep your head on a swivel, your eyes open and ears open.I too carried a .22 mag. pistol as a backup, but it was a last ditch deal. Mine was double action, too. Sigh. I'm really trying not to pick on you, by my God. The political and legal climate is such that many (most?) people will not use force until they have no other option, and the reason is they do not want crowds of protestors gathering outside their house night after night while they are dragged before a grand jury and quite likely prosecuted for not taking every perceived right of the person who threatened them into account in the breech. Even if they prevail initially or on appeal, there is no guarantee they won't be ruined financially and professionally. They do not have enough information to intelligently parse the risks and as such will play it safe right up until they no longer have a choiceIt's the whole country.
The majority of the country would rather commit suicide than be viewed as racist, for opposing the BLM narrative.
Are you not familiar with Heizer? not any in 5.7 but you can choose several other effective rounds. LOLThe real question is, why no 'pocket guns' in 5.7 x 28?
If you believe that there is an increased likelihood that you may be faced with a similar situation in the future, then dissecting an event to learn from it is exactly what is needed. Also referred to as after action reviews or critical incident reviews.I’m not going to dissect it or be an armchair quarterback.
You’re right. I didn’t express my thoughts clearly enough I guess. We can learn from this of course. I guess I just didn’t want to bash the guy to much while sitting comfortably in my home. We can learn from his situation. If you believe that there is an increased likelihood that you may be faced with a similar situation in the future, then dissecting an event to learn from it is exactly what is needed. Perhaps you should go take the point on how you are so willing to tell us WE should act and show us how it is done. Then we can study how and how badly you are dragged by the system and have a better idea of what our true risks are in such a confrontation
I doubt Mayor Hogsett would enforce the laws either. There are probably several nice restaurants and bars in Indianapolis that are going to be hurt also. For those not familiar, The Highlands in Louisville used to be a nice area, but in the last couple of decades has become a haven for daisy sniffing socialists. Must of Louisville's social unrest starts there. Its a safe place for BLM/Antifa types where they know Mayor Fischer won't bother to enforce laws. Sadly, there are a lot of very nice restaurants and bars there that are hurt by this crap.

I don't intend to ever go downtown again; you never know when a "mostly peaceful" protest may break out.
So, you'll hold our coat for us? :roll eyes:Maybe if there was something worth saving.
What would I be giving my life for? So pre-schoolers can have drag queer story hour, or so 4th graders can be taught anal sex? So a man pretending to be a woman will be celebrated by the right?
And all of these things are embraced and tolerated by the average person.
I'm saying people refuse to even speak out against it, much less do something about it.
This is absolutely an example of the gun as a talisman to ward off evil. That .22 isn't good for anything except getting himself killed. It's out because he thinks that displaying it will make the bad people go away.I mean. He seems to be pointing that little rimfire like he's seen on TV. Like it's his magic shield.
