The ACA was ruled constitutional by more or less the same court that gave us Heller. (Sotomayor for Souter and Kagan for Stevens, IIRC.) ACA was proven to be un-Constitutional yet the lefty courts let that piece of crap slide through.

Point being, though, if enough people in the US want to amend the constitution to say that guns/beer/porn/internal combustion engines are forbidden, then they'll be forbidden.
Again, I'm certainly not advocating for that - quite the contrary. It is difficult to present a compelling case that our US society is becoming less Euro-left as time goes on.
