Bennigans and Steak & Ale Bankrupt

Bennigan's Closed After Bankruptcy Filing - Money News Story - WRTV Indianapolis

I just called the Steak & Ale in Southern Plaza (Indy's Southside) and there was no answer.

Apparently franchised restaurants are not necessarily closing.

yeah its kinda out of the way for me. but we eat at the one in st pete FL. most every summer when we go down there. always top notch meal. guinness burger with death by chocolate is the best thing ever!

oh, and the sarcasm is not appreciated

I called the Bennigans located at the Ramada Hotel at Pendleton Pike and I-465 (Indy's N.E. side) and they are a franchise and will be staying open.

You can get a monte cristo at a lot of restaurants, but they always come with syrup. Only Bennigans gives you raspberry jam.

We don't have any Bennigans down here in SW Indiana.

I used to eat a a couple in Colorado and never really thought they were that great.

Steak and Ale can close for all I care. Worst food known to man. Nice environment, but they screwed up my order twice (ate it the third time because I didnt want to waste that much meat) and were relatively rude to us (first date with someone that night too). Food was cold and poorly cooked.

Bennigans is a bummer though, that is a good restaurant.

Never been to Bennigans, but I agree with the Steak and Ale comments, at least for the one at Exit 2 off 465 on the Southside. The food is not commiserate with the price. I've only been there when someone else requested and paid. (Who turns down free food?)
