Small Home Machine Shop

I have a lathe, mill, MIG and TIG welders, in the Pike County area I can do some repairs or projects for floks if needed.

I can do some gunsmith work but will not do anything even remotely questionable in regards to NFA.

Used to have a small gun shop years ago so I still have some of the special small taps used on firearms.

I can't take big projects, but could help out a member.

19 year-old JOAT

I am a college student, my spring break is March 12-19, and I will be available for interviews and training during that time. Over the summer, I am available from May 18 until August 10. I would also be available throughout the year as various breaks in the term come up. I am located on the west side of Indy at the 38th St./I-65 Interchange, and am willing to drive within the metro area, preferably closer to an interstate as it gets further from home.

I'm looking for work over the summer anywhere that I can put in a hard day's work and get paid for a hard day's work. Anywhere that could let me clock overtime would be even better. Pay rate will be negotiated.

I have forklift experience. I have no licence because the company I got it through didn't file the paperwork with the state, just kept it internal. Experience is not something that you can claim and then fake. I will be happy to prove this in person.

I am kind of a whiz when it comes to cars. I've got experience with body work as well as mechanics. None in a shop, all in my house. I have some tools of my own, but by no means a full set. My driving record isn't all that clean, but I am a very careful driver now.

I grew up on a hobby farm and somewhat remember my way around a farm. I'm a pretty quick learner, but may have to be shown some things. I'm not afraid of shoveling horse stalls or milking cows.

I helped my father as a general contractor for a couple of summers here and there while I was in Jr High and High School. I've helped on projects around the house and know basic carpentry, plumbing and how to run wires. I don't know how to wire a fuse box or light switch but as I said earlier, I'm a quick learner.

I am decently strong - no Hulk Hogan, but no 98 lb weakling either. My only physical limitations are due to old injuries. I have issues with my left knee and shoulder, but they are normally in good condition and I've lived with them and know how to avoid flaring them up.

I've worked in an Ice Cream shoppe for the last 3 summers (Ritter's Frozen Custard at 57th and Georgetown on the Westside) and can work in a customer service environment as well as a manual labor environment. I was a Summer Associate in the Maintenance Department at Wood-Mizer Products Inc. on West 10th (just east of Country Club) this past summer in addition to working at Ritter's.
