Wrap your mind around this. I have a couple of the small containers with $19 tags on them. I bought these post-Covid, either 2021 or 2022, from a LGS.Yea. I would find something else. I have never used it but how good can it be at $125 a pound
It is good for subs and reduced loads in most rifles, I'm told. I liked it in my Sharps .45-70 and in .45 Colt, .44 mag and .38-55. I shoot with some that used it in .30-30 to good effect.I've used it some, like Michigan Slim said, I'm OK with Unique. I use 5744 in a number of older rifle cartridges like 50-95. Maybe I'm missing something in it usefulness.
There is more too it than the plant. There was a thread on the SASS Wire about it and some of our shooters had first hand knowledge of it.It’s the only powder to use to fill the case for 30-30 subs, 45-70 subs, 308 subs, etc. Old school powder for old school loads.
It’s my go-to and I’m too old to change. Wish they’d fix that Australian powder plant.
Nor am I. There was something about not meeting a new European standard I was thinking. LEEDS? Too tired to Google. Nite pard.Originally, the fire at ADI in Australia cut the production of TB in @2018. IMR sold the licensing to Hodgdon in 2015-2016, but after the plant burnt, it's been off the market.
I'm not hopeful for the re-release.
I'm with you, I tried it a few years back and It just went from mild to wild to quick for me. Like Lil Gun in some cartridges. Like you guys, I'm a Unique and Bullseye guy. I know what they are gonna do.I've used it some, like Michigan Slim said, I'm OK with Unique. I use 5744 in a number of older rifle cartridges like 50-95. Maybe I'm missing something in it usefulness.
