I do shipping and receiving at my job. I generally ship UPS five days a week. UPS seems to have the fewest screw ups. I've had more issues with FedEx Ground than I ever have with UPS. For reference, I have been using UPS for 22 years. Do they make mistakes? Of course they do. However, according to UPS, they deliver 22.3 million packages a day. There are bound to be a few mistakes with those kinds of numbers.

I had a mis-delivery with XPO a week ago. I had a skid going going to New Jersey. It ended up going to Oklahoma!

Ups at there best.... delivery changed to today between 2 & 5 pm here is is 632pm and according to tracking its still on its way....View attachment 354014
Lol. Rescheduled for the same day.

Gotta say for me USPS is the absolute worst. If a package hits Bedford Park, Illinois I cringe. Know it'll be an extra 5-10 days to get my package as it bounces back and forth between there, Chicago, and Fox Valley multiple times

It seems like it all comes down to the employees involved in the transit and delivery process. I consistently have the best lucky with UPS. The drivers that handle my area are super friendly and handle my packages with care. I usually get it in the estimated time frame or slightly early.

USPS is pretty good, except my drive won't go to my house if it rains. He turns around in my neighbors driveway and there's only 3 of us on this road. Just before you get to our houses, there's a spot in the road that floods if it rains REALLY hard. They fixed the drainage there so it rarely ever does anymore, but he doesn't even check lol. I've been without mail for over a week before because he won't go around the block and add 5 minutes to his route. Usually the road is passable too, so I have to call and ask for him to leave my stuff at the post office so I can get it.

FedEx is the absolute worst. They drive through my yard constantly and deliver my packages to my neighbor 50% of the time. And my neighbor is a nutjob so I hate having to interact with him. I actually had to make a property damage claim to them last year because they rutted my yard so badly. Same driver went off my driveway 6 times in 8 days. He literally never dropped anything off the first 5 times he came. I had to have them place a ban on coming up my driveway. That didn't even last a month before they started coming up my driveway again to save walking 75 yards.

My UPS order was shipped to me the 24th of May... it was handed off to my local USPS on the 30th. Been sitting there since that time. Tracking says I MIGHT get it on June 4th! To me, they both suck.

I have had nothing but problems with UPS lately. Probably close to 25% get that delay exception. I had a rifle I sent in for service that bounced around from location to location for days. I was sure it would end up lost or damage. They finally contacted me and told me I had to drive to the Plainfield location and pick it up myself.

We ordered a cz from Palmetto on Fri, it was picked up by FedEx sat evening.
It would have been delivered yesterday if the store hadn't closed before its normal hours. It's been redelivered this morning.
I will call in a bit when the store reopens.

I also ordered a Vortex off Amazon on Saturday, ups delivered it this morning.
Now to measure what 34mm rings I need.

examples like this are why stamp prices go up sometimes multiple times a year.
Somebody has to pay for all that excessive labor and fuel.

UPS dinged me a surcharge a week or 2 after shipping one.

Stated the box was larger according to their scanning tools, bogus but not going to contest it this time. If it happens again I will, then may stop using them.

Seems none of the carriers are a good choice

That's why I always enter larger dims than what's printed on the bottom of the box; helps account for poor packing of product (bulges due to using smaller box than you should have)

Yeah, mine to Detroit first (amazing it departed), then Indy.
Apparently not all distribution centers for USPS are hubs for UPS Smartpost. (UPS cross country, then USPS last mile)
I think its Midway USA that when you order using smartpost for Indiana delivery, it ships from central MO across I70 through Indy, and is then handed off to USPS in Columbus, OH. Then USPS drives it back here to deliver.
