I picked- up one of the 4Sevens Maelstrom G5's that Goinggear.com has on clearance. I mounted it into a VTAC offset mount that I purchased from esrice today (Thanks esrice!). Really nice rock-solid combo. Especially for a tick under $83 total.

My question is the clearance between the bell/bezel of the light and my front sight block. It appears to be approximately .030" clearance. Any issues with this? Is this common? Am I going to beat it to death during training excercises?

I understand that I can flip it 180 degrees and utilize a vertical grip but that is not my preference at this time.

Does not look like it will cause any problems. As long as the light is designed to take weapon shock (not all lights are that sturdy) then it will run fine. Actually looks like a pretty good position for the light.

Looks like a great setup! And I've heard only good things about 4Sevens.

    Should do just fine.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm pretty happy with the setup. The Maelstrom is a true weapon light as designed by 4Sevens. Batteries are supported on both ends for shock resistance. Throw is excellent. Plus it's got a 10 year warranty. Not bad. Not bad at all IMO.
