Went to the West Central Indiana Friends of the NRA banquet.

They had a Kel-tec PMR-30 in the live auction. I actually thought about bidding on it, and I also remembered that Orion Arms posted earlier about having some in for $399.

So the auction started @ $200. Then quickly when to 300, then 400, then 500....... wow. Ended at $800! I mean, I know this stuff is for a good cause and all, but double the price!?

At our local NRA banquet we auctioned an NRA afgan (blanket, not terrorist) for something crazy like $400-500. Committee cost was less than $75. You get some big money in a room, serve drinks and bids fly.

what was weird is most of the things were going for what I considered to be low $$, but that one item went nuts. I guess it just shows you how hard they must be to find.

I think the best odds of the night were the 20 for $20 raffle. 20 tickets sold @ $20 each. That raffle also had a PMR-30. Guess they should have put both of them in the auction!

The Evansville committee has a raffle in May, I think there is a PMR30 on there. There is also a Keltec KSG.

    25 guns, 250 tickets at $100 a pop.

you mean i have a 1 in 250 chance of winning a gun???and the value of the least expensive one is 175.00????? wow that sounds great to me!

and you mean 1/2 of the money stays in indiana to help the local nra with events like boy scout shooting, 4h shooting programs AND the nra youth day at redbrush rifle range??? with the rest going to the natrional rifle assn, to help with our gun rights!!!

where could i purchase a ticket?

oh and on the day of the raffle they are having a auction with quite a few nice high end trap guns (2 browning bt99's and a bt100, and a ljutic mono gun among others) donated by the estate of a long time nra supporter
(sorry snorko i dont remember the list of all the guns up for auction)

ok guys all kidding aside, this helps US with our rights, dig deep and help the nra :patriot:

oh and one more thing if you win the #1 gun, the stag arms ar15, with the .22 upper and the cascade titanium suppressor the prize includes $200 dollars tor the transfer tax!!!how's that for a little incentive to purchase a ticket!

Since one's ticket stays in the bucket for all 25 guns unless/until it wins, the odds are 1/250 for the first gun, 1/249 for the second, etc. Of course most winners buy back in so effectively it is 1/250 for each gun. Thus the probability of winning is 1/250 for each of 25 draws. The overall probability of NOT winning a gun is ((249/250)^25) = 0.904655, subtracted from 1 = 9.53% chance of winning a firearm.
