No cheating here. The spousal unit lives for tax time. I think he missed his calling.
He loves all the tedium and numbers. I've only done them myself a half dozen times or so, but it's not my bag.
He likes it so much, he does it for others.
Good thing he's decent at it...we always get a nice return, so I let him have at it.

I'm not wealthy enough to be able to cheat.

Hell, even Wesley Snipes wasn't wealthy enough, and he's a multi-millionaire, so I seriously doubt I would get away with it for long - why bother to bring down the wrath of Big Brother over something as minor as taxes?

If I were going to get in trouble, I'd make sure it was worth my while.

I used to give extra by not filing a tax return when I had money coming back, but I had to stop when my kids started college. You have to file in order to fill out their financial aid forms.

No, but my farm lost a forture last year! My small farm has depreciation, and all those expenses for upkeep and equipment purchases.......

Ladies and Gentleman, you need to own a small farm! It is a wonderful and legal tax shelter. Sometimes it has a profit!

I don't cheat on the taxes because I know as soon as I did, I'd get caught. I did get freaked out today though. I was expecting the refund today in the bank but it wasn't there. I then went to their website and it said there was no record of it. I then ended up calling. Come to find out, I kept entering the cents in the whole dollar area. Why it freaked me out was because I'm a small business owner. I file my own tax returns. This year though because of other circumstances, I bought some extra protection from Turbo Tax that if I got audited, they'd handle it. My first thought was "Oh crap, We're being audited and it's because I bought that extra protection" Whew... Scary few minutes.

I have never cheated and never will. I have no desire for an agency
with unlimited funds hounding me down and demanding me prove my innocence.

To prevent paying more than my share, I do solicit the
    expertise of a knowledgeable CPA.

Supporting his Business helps in prevention of supporting wasteful Govt. spending.
If they don't take it, then it's still mine to do with what I want.

If Govt. needs more, they will print it, I don't have that option.

I even report stuff I probably don't have to, and I leave out exemptions like business lunches and such... things that are commonly abused. The IRS is like your mom- you want to keep that relationship perfect your whole life.

It's not hard. just save back 30% of all income for taxes to be overly prepared. With so many "preppers" on these forums, that should be a no-brainer :):

I would never cheat because I appreciate all the programs that our government has. It is important to support the programs of President Obama and his efforts to make the world a better place. And before you jack rabbits start neg repping me again, yes this is in jest. Some of you have a hard time with non purple sarcasm. Kind of like my wife.
