    Plastic Automotive Pry tool ?
I might try that if the grip doesnt want to come off. It has before it just likes to be difficult and i'm worried about damage to the edges of the grip. It looks like the last time i removed them the upper edge on the left panel by the thumb safety got a little squished from removal.

The last $75 set broke in half doing that
Maybe trim a flat piece of wood, plastic, or metal that would mostly fill the side hole of the grip frame. Then insert fingers from the bottom and the slide area and push. This might spread the force over a larger area, rather than concentrate it as a single finger would. That might prevent splitting.

Drop of CLR oil, and slide old credit card under the edge. I had some stuck ones too, and went to the brown plastic grips for my Rock Island. It's not a WW2 Original, but the grips remove easily, frame gets a wipe down, and re install. I've owned quite a few different 1911's, Springfield Arms always had the tightest bushings to screw issues.
    Good luck.
