How can you bee sure that center right will be “effective “? Oh you mean passing a 1.3 Trillion budget extension effective…. Sorry, I almost forgot that tidbit of effectiveness.
You have to be effective. Most of the people who are far-right are more mouthpiece than effective. People tend to love the mouth pieces though because they say things that make you feel good.
The theory always sounds reasonable, the application isn't so smooth. When there is no stark contrast between Republicans and Democrats, Democrats win. Dole, McCain and Romney did not give a stark contrast to their opponents. They tried to be affable.

I would rather have Larry Hogan in the Senate, but if he's going to act like a Democrat then it's all moot.

In today's political landscape, it's hard for moderates to be America First because, by nature, the don't want to ruffle the feathers of the other side. Ironically enough, the other side has devolved from ruffling feathers into trying to destroy their political opponents for generations.
You need the Hogan and Collins crowd to control what even comes to the floor. If the Senate map is red wave this year, Hogan is how you Get closer to a filibuster proof majority. If it is another blown red wave, Hogan is how you keep Schumer from controlling nominees. It seems people think R’s and D’s are the same because R’s aren’t announcing sweeping tax hikes, spending cuts, and extreme measures during a government shutdown to address the debt. People are frustrated they aren’t legislating like they control three chambers with huge majorities where in reality they have a narrow incompetent majority in one chamber. Red states that where Republicans are performing have a lane to ignore Ds and move policy. Feds don’t have that luxury.

People think R's and D's are the same because the R's no longer stand for limited government and the D's no longer stand for free speech. The levers of control in each party are being pulled so that the insiders benefit and no one else.

Republicans that aren't America First allow themselves to be cajoled, or worse, controlled by the flow of lobbying money. They don't want to interrupt the gravy train. They go along to get along. They don't want to **** off the establishment and donor class. They want to continue being invited to social gatherings. They want to be mainstream media darlings.

The domestic agenda you mentioned WAS the rallying cry for Republicans. It's how the establishment class got the people to sit down and shut up.

While the voting base ate that up hook, line and sinker, elected officials and the consultants were getting rich peddling influence, gutting the heart of the nation shipping our manufacturing base to foreign soil, relying on China for just about everything, allowing the soul of the nation to be attacked by political correctness, doing their best to change the demographics of the nations by having a perpetual open border and using lawfare and three letter agencies to attack the loudest voices of the opposition.

If we can't course correct taxes and spending will be the least of our concerns.

But weren't you one of the ones saying DeSantis was going to do exactly that as president? Why the sudden epiphany?
I can't name one policymaker more aggressive or effective in moving conservative policy in this country than Ron DeSantis. Through administrative actions and policy, he would be, in my opinion, far better than the alternative at moving the needle. Having a red legislature alone doesn't move policy. Some still have roadblocks.

At what point does the RNC kick out politicians who do not hold their political philosophy?
Why would you allow people like her to stay in the party? Is there not a standard?
Do what I have done. Write to the RNC and demand they remove all support from those who objectively do not support the Party Platform. Prohibit them from running under the Republican Party Banner.

I understand why they are pretending this is big news, but has anyone in the last 8 years thought she would ever vote for Trump?

Kick her out how exactly? She already lost her primary. The party has no more ability to "kick" her out than they do you.

If there was some way to do what you say, it would have been used on Trump a long time ago.

My guess is that there are lots of C-o-C republicans who think the same as she does, but don't talk about it in public. They are content to shank Trump and his supporters in the dark.

So you are saying Obama can be a Republican and they would fund him to run against whomever?
Huh? How did you get to there from my comment?

What is Cheney running for? What is the Republican party funding her for? Can the party kick you out?

Back to your comment though. That is a heck of a leap, but that would be up to the National Party if they were going to fund him. Nothing says they have to fund or back anyone. That has been obvious the last 8 years with different Republican groups backing different candidates.
