Not good to hear that, but what I had read was more talking about how early on in the riot season departments were doing some stocking up. How widespread was not mentioned but it was thought a contributing factor. I could see departments in dem controlled cities not stocking ammo and needing it when the riots hit.
Was at Bud's Gun Shop in Sevierville,TN on Friday and they had Remington Thunderbolt 500 bulk , and unless I was hallucinating the price was $79 per box. For that price I'll shoot my Beeman R7 air rifle or get a sling shot and chuck rocks.
I was at Smokey Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville two weeks ago, and was surprised how much they had in stock. It was not on the wifes "to do" list for the day, so I only got about 30 minutes there, which is almost nothing. I didn't even attempt to check ammo prices, but I could spend a whole day in there!
Some indoor ranges in Indy are selling 9mm Luger 115 grain FMJ for $35-40 a box of 50. Ludicrous!

Bought a Ruger PC Carbine last weekend and the shop said they could sell me one box of 9mm for $30. I passed. I am back to reloading 9mm again but even bullets are scarce.
This will pass. I give it until March assuming there's a peaceful transition within the white house.
