Afghanistan = one of the world’s truly great $hit holes inhabited mostly by “humans” wanting to exist in the stone ages despite the fact that this is the 21st century.

20 years, $1-2T, and the Afghan military gave up in a day.

Should have trained them as horse cavalry.

At what point did TPTB forget Afghanistan is a 10th century country on a good day?

One of the thugs we traded for Bergdahl (worse trade than the Merchant of Death for Brittany Griner) was mugging for the camera from the presidential palace. The President who was a favorite of Blinken bailed with suitcases full of cash.

Time to read The Art of War instead of White Fragility.

Afghanistan think of the Bible people only with cell phones and Toyota pickups.

We had a maintenance Warrant Officer and Master Sergeant attempt to set up a mechanic school. The problem is how to you teach someone who cannot read?
They were on the verge of a nervous breakdown good guys that had s!$t to work with.

"Many Pashtuns also believe that women have something called the "evil eye," that they have special powers and the ability to cause bad things to happen."

    Well... ;)

I think I may have run into one of those Pashtun clowns on vacation. Dude and what appeared to be several wives wandering around sightseeing. All wearing traditional garb.

When we came across them at the public beach, he had a beach chair, but all the women and children had to stand or sit on the sand. He was rude AF, and left a trail of trash everywhere he went.

I will never understand Western women who rage against conservative Western men, then turn around and throw on a hijab and larp as noble savage Palestinians or Afghans or Yemenis or whatever. Women living under Islam would sell one of their children to be able to live under the most conservative American Christian.

There's nothing to understand, save your time.
It's not a ideology based in logic or principle, it's a popularity contest.
Whatever garners to most attention or social reward is what they gravitate toward.

It's an ideology that is safe to engage in and perform in public so long as that ideology, as well as Islam, remain in the minority.

Life comes at you fast when the scales of power flip. Just look at Afghanistan.
