I said this a couple weeks ago and took some flak for it. Not so sure I wasn't right.
At the risk of sounding racist, I'd expand that to any Muslim majority country. They dont value freedom for ALL, which is a requirement for freedoms like ours to function. If you dont feel that EVERYONE is equal (and not property like women and girls) and deserves freedom, you wont understand and wont truly want freedom for ALL. Its just how it is. That is how their religion shapes their views.Just another **** hole country in that **** hole region.
You can throw Turkey in the same **** hole.

Yes, we have some Muslims here and dont have problems. Many of them are very liberal and for the most part treat their women as more or less equals. Yes, still values that would make Gloria Steinem freak out, but still VERY tame by current overseas standards. And the few here that share the radical (to us) homeland values are small enough of a minority here that they cannot affect the rest of the country.
But look at London. Sections of the city that are Muslim majority and treated as off limits to native Brits/govt law enforcement "because they have different beliefs and so we live and let live." And they defer most peacekeeping to religious leaders. So you have women forced to wear certain religious clothing, not have free reign to travel solo, etc. But the govt turns a blind eye so long as nobody reports actual beatings.
Can you imagine if a white guy in a white, Catholic majority neighborhood was caught forcing his wife to not leave the house without him, or go anywhere she wanted? He'd get locked up for spousal abuse. Not true for those other groups.
I probably should have been clearer about what specifically I was referring to since Lara covered several topics. I said several days ago that everything about the exit from Afghanistan appeared designed to prop up, aide and abett the Taliban. There were too many things that went the same direction for it to be blamed on coincidence or incompetence.Just another **** hole country in that **** hole region.

That wont stop liberal dbags from claiming it is.I will concur....and not at all racist given "muslim" is not a race.
Taking out the idiots clamoring for the "moral high ground" is likely a good first step to successfully conducting a war now days.We lack not only the political will, but the moral high ground.
But I still prefer a JSOC team on the ground vs a Hellfire.
Can you say Har Megiddo?Are those plans still operative or been derailed or significantly revised?
Just remember, Matthew 24:36 is a caution to always be prepared as well as not jump the gun or listen to those who claim to knowHeh, I wonder how close we really are!
I think the Middle East will remain important because of where the final battle will be fought and where New Jerusalem will be establishedI was dwelling on Meggido, not thinking about from that angle.
And thinking about that angle, we could be getting pretty close* or not. Like most everyone who has studied the matter I've come up with what is concluded to be a window, in my case a window of approximately forty years, that we'll be entering into within a decade. At least that's what I think until I learn more that makes me change my mind.
* My life time (close).
