Yeah, not sure where this firearms instructor thing came from, there is no official army MOS for firearms instructor. His unit is part of the 104th Training Command so it's possible he was either a drill sergeant or instructor or simply a support person in one of those units (you can be any MOS to get either an instructor or DS designation). They are a training unit with primary responsibilities being ROTC support. This makes sense as in one of his captured Facebook posts he mentioned that they were doing training at West Point on one occasion. He may have had an instructor identifier but that just means you may be able to teach on a number of different tasks. Or simply as the 'gun guy' in the unit they had him teach the rifle marksmanship training stuff because nobody else wanted to but there's no requisite training for that.Live updates: Community mourns, remembers those killed, wounded in Lewiston

Ha, if all this is the case then most on INGO except for our left-wingers support conspiratorial content! This is evidence of the system failing?
This sounds like an average day on INGO.

Now let's see if the super-journalists can FOIA the military's mental health records for this individual. Oh, that's right...HIPAA.Maine mass shooting: What we know about suspect Robert Card
The suspect in a mass shooting in Maine that killed at least 18 people and wounded 13 others was found dead after a massive manhunt, officials said.abcnews.go.com
Sounds like the FBI has been grooming this one.
The suspect appears to have "interacted with conspiratorial content" online, information provided to law enforcement shows.
Topics he engaged with included but were not limited to: concerns about a financial crisis/stock market, LGBTQ+ issues, gun rights and commentary about Democratic public officials, including President Joe Biden, the information shows.
The system failed but the gun did this?
A U.S. Defense Department official confirmed to ABC News that Card was "behaving erratically" while deployed over the summer with his Army Reserve Unit to Camp Smith Training Center in upstate New York to support summer training for West Point cadets.
Card allegedly threatened other soldiers with violence and was "command directed" to go to the hospital for the evaluation, according to a source briefed and with direct knowledge of the incident.
And once again
Card was not trained by the Army as a firearms instructor, "nor did he serve in that capacity for the Army," the spokesperson, Bryce Dubee, added.
This is a little off topic but WTF is the sign language lady doing?
What exactly is she trying to say here? What timestamp? I don't understand much ASL, but it looks pretty normal to me, what I can pick up. ASL it actually meant to be signed with those sort of intense facial expressions. A lot of sign language interpreters I see don't do it, but for deaf people watching, that's the equivalent of speaking in a dry monotone the whole time.
Pretty distracting for non-deaf people, though, I have to admit, so I can see why most don't.
For years all of gun owners said, don’t go after our guns, go after the crazy people that have guns. Now we say, you can’t go after crazy people with guns until after they do something. I gues…I'm picking up a strong "red flag laws for thee, but not for me" vibe around here.
Why not just go after crazy/dangerous people, and leave the guns out of it. Problem solved. For years all of gun owners said, don’t go after our guns, go after the crazy people that have guns. Now we say, you can’t go after crazy people with guns until after they do something. I gues…
Make no mistake, this snippet was not added by accident. This is part of the Identify, Vilify, Nullify, Destroy strategy I've referred to in the past. They've Identified the target as individuals distrustful of the quote "establishment" who are also focused on things like self-defense and self-reliance (especially if they're white and right leaning). This is an attempt to Vilify the target by relating them to a madman. Mass shooters have become the modern day boogey man, and thus they try to dehumanize the target while also humanizing any victims willing to stand as an antithesis to this. The suspect appears to have "interacted with conspiratorial content" online, information provided to law enforcement shows.

I have been around alot of deaf people as friends and it is always this way with the interpreter. That said, this gal here is in the upper echelon of...expressive.What timestamp? No idea without context. What time is that in the video?

I did 28, and came out as an E-6. Only 7.5 active though. In the Guard / Reserves many times if you want a promotion you'll have to start drilling (going weekends) at another unit in order to get the slot. That can mean choosing between being close by, or driving to the other end of the state every month.20 years, no deployments, and only an E7?
My little brother was in for less than 10, deployed twice and left as an E6 IIRC. Seems odd, but I did hear stories about guys left stateside because they didn’t want them deployed.
When I was a Drill Sergeant the PVT,s used ask why some DS had a blue disk.
I used tell them they are on probation for killing a PVT. They actually believed it.
BTW The blue disk behind the crest on the campaign hat. ID,s the DS as Infantry.
Yes. They consider even the most sane of us here enemies of the state. We are independent thinkers with real world skills like first aid, wilderness survival, hunting/trapping/fishing skills, and other real world marketable skills that means we have good jobs. All that adds up to someone who is not easy to control.Make no mistake, this snippet was not added by accident. They are still attempting to go through the Nullify phase, which is to silence the target's ability to defend themselves in the court of public opinion, as well as isolating the targets (ie. divide and conquer). This in turn makes it much easier for the Destroy phase to occur.
