I did not notice the picture, because I didn't really look at it. I just answered the question. The picture is there to intentionally mislead people into thinking they are the same.

I wrote them a book on all of the answers that weren't multiple choice.

For me it said "assault rifle" so I gave the definition of an assault rifle. "Assault weapon" would've sent me off on a tangent.

Where did this come from? It doesn't appear to be a legitimate academic research survey. Poorly designed in a number of ways.
