A few flight pictures for your viewing pleasure Angola to Atlantic Iowa and back

Had to make a run from Angola to Atlantic for a customer. Filed for IFR as we took off into the clouds and were in and out of clouds until past Chicago. The flight time was roughly 4 hours out with a fuel stop in Davenport and only 2 1/2 hours back. Hate a 40 mph headwind but love a 40 mph tailwind…. Drive time would have been about 17 hours total. We were on the ground for less than 2 hours.

Best view of Chicago from 7,500 feet. Still kept my hand on my wallet.



Can you spot the Southwest jet inbound for Midway? Got to see him turn inbound and descend below us -really cool. He was about 3,000 feet below us.

The best speed I saw on the way back was 203 knots or 233 mph. This pic was over Peru Illinois. Got busy near Chicago.

If you want a good taste, take a discovery flight at a local airport. Most are about an hour and in most cases you’ll get to fly the plane. PM me if you want any details. I don’t teach as I’m not an instructor.
