Greetings fellow 2A supporters.
I'd like to do a poll to get an idea of where my mind should go. Bottom line is this a Glock vs 1911/2011 poll based on what I a consider optimal for EDC....
My requirements; mostly in order of importance:
Hammer fired (1911) or Striker Control Device (SCD, Glock)
Same manual of arms for SC and C EDC options
Consistent Trigger Pull (SAO or striker)
Subcompact and Compact options (for deep carry and "duty" carry respectively)
Solid grip
"Crisp" trigger function (slight take-up, audible reset, etc)
My preferences:
Magazine compatability for SC EDC with C (Glock 26 can take Glock 19 magazines for instance)
Easy for SC to "disappear" (thin frame, short grip)
Night Sights
Flat-face trigger
Optics Ready
My wishlist right now is this:
1911/2011 - Micro 9 for deep carry; Wilson SFX 9 4/4.25", or Oracle 2311 Compact for "duty"
Glock - 26/19 (Obviously), or Glock 43X/19
I currently have a Shield Plus but REALLY want hammer-fired (I'm all about the hammer hold when re-hoslering) which got me on a 1911 path. Then came the SCD which has me wondering if I should just go back to Glock. Both have their pros and cons; 1911 has the all things trigger and size going for it, and I can get a good grip on the Micro 9 (extension magazine). Glock has magazine compatability (not 43X option though), availability (one of the most popular handguns in America), and cost on it's side; although the 26 is a bit less comfortable to hold without magazine extensions that would then get it darn close to the 19 height. Of course, I can customize the Glock far past what a 1911 could be but that can start messing with reliability and cost increases exponentially too.
I know this is more subjective than objective, but I also think it's fun because it's gun related and I like guns. I like conversations as well and am open to input.
Thanks for looking and have some fun!
PS: Pics for marketing and "pretty" factors for poll.
PPS: I think I've got everything covered so my fingers are crossed I don't need to edit this. Haha!!
