On the 50th Anniversary of D-Day (1994 was 30 years ago...) Norman Schwartzkopf was at Omaha Beach. Standing on the beach he looked at the German positions and said, "This is the best defensive position I've ever seen."

    That speaks volumes.

I was fortunate to grow up around WWII, Korea and Vietnam Vets. All were great men with great values and work ethics. I attribute a lot of who I am today to them and feel honored to have known them. They inspired me to join the Military at age 18 and spend 20 years there, ultimately leading me to the career I have today. My great Aunt was a "Rosie the Riveter" building aircraft during WWII, but I didn't find that out until very late in her life and was only able to speak to her briefly about it before she passed.
Honor all those who served in whatever capacity, but remember it was our WWII Veterans who led the way out of the dark times of WWII from 1939 to 1945. They were truly the greatest generation and kept the United States safe for the future generations.
