Here's a nice Doe I took on 11/20 near Wolf Lake. First deer with the .500 sw Handi Rifle. about a 120yd shot. She ran a good 500 yards. almost lost her. the shot went through the ribcage and destroyed her liver, etc. couldnt believe she ran so far...never had that happen before. "shot placement is everything" even with this big gun. BTW I was shooting HSM 350 gr. hornady sxt
Here is my buck for 2010 a beautiful 6X6, the deer green score is 150". It is my first typical 6X6 and a great end to a hard hunt buck season now on to doe management.

Beautiful buck, Joe. Like I told Tony, mainframe 12's are a rarity in these parts, and one should feel fortunate to even see one, let alone kill one. Congratulations!
I just realized that I never posted my 2010 buck in this thread (probably because I have a thread dedicated to it):
Just for the record, I hate you guys! Congrats on everyone's success. I'll be grinding it out the rest of the week for my buck, then the bow will run me till the new year. I will get at least 1 I hope.
I envy all of you. I miss hunting, especially for whitetail. If anyone would like a cameraman tagging along to try and film your hunt next year give me a call. I don't have a great video camera but I'd buy a newer model, I'd enjoy just sitting out there at this point, been a long time since I sat in the woods.
Got this one last night. I don't get much time to hunt so if it walks in front of me I kill it. (Ran out of deer meat about three months ago, don't want that to happen again.) Glad to get this one out of the gene pool, weight was good, but should have been a lot bigger rack based on the deers age. Now to get the boys in the trees to get their deers. An no, I did not shoot him with my Glock, I was just afraid he might be playing possum, tricky deer.
got my first and second deer today!! About 60yards with a Rossi lever action .357. I was shooting a 195gr cast soft point SWC-GC at about 1700fps. Dropped the buck with a shoulder/spine shot. While I was waiting for him to bleed out, sitting on a log, smoking a cigar, the doe wlked in. Guess it was her first deer season! She didn't know any better! Sh'es kinda small, but will be good eating! I'm very happy with my first two deer!!!
