My favorite gun, not because it is anything special, but because my wife used part of her inheritance to buy it for me. I am a lucky guy.

Here's my older Colt Lightweight Commander. I just recently got it back from Allen. He cerakoted the frame and slide OD green with black controls. New trigger, hammer, beaver tail grip safety, and barrel bushing. Dovetail cut for new sights, carry cut the slide, fine line serrations on the slide and bobbed the grip, and put new grips on it. Pretty much the only original thing left is the barrel. I'm very pleased with how it came out.
I normally despise pistols with different finished controls, BUT, yours looks very good indeed. Here's my older Colt Lightweight Commander. I just recently got it back from Allen. Have you shot this yet?!? I've been looking hard at the new Armory Kote version, especially with Springfield having the 4-mag promotion. That's a beauty!Received a nice deal from a INGO friend... EMP 3

Excellent, please report back after you've had a chance to give it a workout! Sounds like it's already good to go, but would love to hear your impressions after you wring it out a bit. The only change I would like, or like to see, is to make the mags fit flush... would make for slightly better IWB carry. I've seen posts where owners send their mags to a guy who can remove the slam pad, and replace with a flush-fitting base plate. You lose a round with this mod, but save a little space by removing that pad.If the stars all align I'm taking it out on Friday after work. The previous owner stated it ran flawlessly with 750 rds fired. I'm going to run 4 different loads and bullet profiles through it to check it's function. When I decide to carry it the only thing I may change is the ambi-safety to single side.
At the beginning of this year, I did not own a 1911. Sold them off last year in hopes of consolidating. Yup. That didn't last long. The two Springers have been across the bench of mouse. The Champ has worked its way into the carry position.
