Veggie plants purchased. 4 for 10 bucks at ace hardware. I got 12 total. Locally grown too. Ribs on the stick burner fueled by oak wood. About to cut a whiskey barrel in half for veggie planters then it's beer time :40oz:
The 661 will out cut the other 2 in wood larger than 30 inches. In smaller wood than 30, the smaller saws are actually faster. All 3 are nice saws. Most of my tree service customers are finally starting to lean towards the 500 over the 462 and 661 ( I'm a stihl dealer). Those tree guys are slow...
Today I laid my best friend of over 11 years to rest. I rescued him in 2012 at a little over a year old from a person who chained him up outside for over a year. I brought him inside, trained him, loved him, talked to him like a human and I swear he understood me. He taught himself how to...
I've also not needed my genny for more than 12 hours thankfully but me being prepared kept a gone but not forgotten ingo member indygunguy and his family with power and air conditioning for days when he needed it.
I won't forget the look he gave me when he came to get the genny and I MADE him...
I'm ready for the incoming arctic blast. Got the new blower motor installed today. Also brought 3 days of wood inside with another 4 days worth 1 step out the back door.
Having 2 years of wood covered with recycled barn metal is priceless with all the rain we just got and what's coming tomorrow :)
:lol2:
Yetti is not wrong. I have a tiny insert 1.5 cu ft firebox, and I burn 6 to 10 ricks a year only burning part time....not 24-7.
Worst consumption I have recorded is 1 cord in 1 month of super cold for weeks weather.
I feel for you boiler folks....y'all have to cut ALOT of wood per year
Posted before OP listed the charge weights: The standard safe answer is to start low and work up. Take the lowest of the 3 and start your ladder loading there.
Edit to add: that is a very large swing between the 3 with sierra min being over the other 2 max. I'd double and triple check that...
To add on the .gov topic:
The non drawn out version is the fact they don't like us blowing a chitload of smoke out our chimneys. All new production stoves now have either a: a catalytic device or b: a secondary air/baffle system. Both of these objects basically reburn smoke which is wasted fuel...
Well, after 15 years my inserts blower motor finally failed. New one sourced online and should be here by Wed. $180 including expedited shipping.
Extended forecast looking much colder....time to break out the primo high btu wood.
True. Probably worth $5 / board foot or more if it's not warped, cupped, etc. Just a wag on price so look up going rates!
Sell it and buy firewood....after you put hundreds possibly thousands in your pocket.
Glad you found it. That was the noise you heard last week. Now you know noise other than airflow in chimney is bad.
Now for the bad news....That amount of buildup in 30 or so days tells me your wood is wet and or you are turning the air down too far too fast.
Lookup the 3 stages of creosote...
