Where are the best places to pick up old, discontinued revolvers?

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely try to find some estate auctions to go to soon. I'd love to pick up some of the older, well-built 22s. Also, is there a good way to tell if they are selling firearms, or is it pretty much dependent upon what information they decide to list online? Thank you...

      Favorite reloading manual/manuals?

Thanks for the help. I plan on trying to head up to the CMP store before the end of summer to pick up a nice Garand, so this is very helpful. Out of sheer curiousity, are there a whole lot of other older guns that require specific reloading?

      Favorite reloading manual/manuals?

For future reference, would specific types of guns require specific manuals? I was wondering if loading for an M1 Garand in the future might require a bit of an older or more specific manual. Thank you for your time. -Ben

Where are the best places to pick up old, discontinued revolvers?

Out of curiosity, would you just google estate auctions in your area or is it more of an invite only thing?

Best Indiana SHTF rifle...NO AK OR AR!

Any 9mm Carbine that uses Glock magazines. :) 9mm would be common enough for trading, heavy enough for self defense against unarmored predetors, and large enough for effective short range hunting. It could also be suppressed, though you might have to load your own subsonic ammo. It might not...

      Favorite reloading manual/manuals?

Thanks for the help guys. My tentative plan was to pick up 2 reloading manuals and back them up with online data and my own personal experience (what little I have). I think I'll probably go with the Lee and the Lyman, as they seem to be pretty broad.

      Firearms Coating

Out of curiosity, do you guys have much experience in the metal plating/coating side of things. I'm curious to know what you think about NP3, TiN, TiAN, Melonite, and the like.

best .224 bullets for 1-7 twist barrels?

I've got a .223 Ackley Improved barrel on the way for my T.C. Encore. I'm also wondering, with such a fast twist rate, is there a minimum bullet weight that I should be using? I'd planned on using 69 grain bullets and up, but was wondering if I'd run into issues using lighter bullets.

best .224 bullets for 1-7 twist barrels?

As far as my eye can take me. But in all seriousness, I'd love to load some for as far out as 600 yards for accuracy. I'd love it even more if they shot just as well at 100 as they did at 600 yards. Price isn't too much of an issue, which isn't to say I'm stingy, but I don't want to spend 60...

Where are the best places to pick up old, discontinued revolvers?

Howdy guys. Like the question states, have you guys had any luck finding old or oddball revolvers anywhere in particular. I'd guess that gun shows are pretty good places to find old items, but sometimes I hear about small gun stores or pawn shops having cool older guns. What has your experience...

Anyone else notice Armslist is getting really bad?

I've only ever tried gun shows, gunbroker, and a few local stores. All of them work pretty well, though some of my local gun stores try to overcharge much more than they should. Other than that I'm still working on that 50 post limit so I can enter the magical classified section. ;)

      Favorite reloading manual/manuals?

Howdy guys. Do you guys find any manual that you just reach for a lot more than the others? I'm probably going to pick one or two up soon as I get into reloading more calibers. Thank you for your time. -Ben

best .224 bullets for 1-7 twist barrels?

Howdy y'all. I've got a brand new barrel on the way and was wondering if you guys had some favorite bullets or heavy loads. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thank you for your time. -Ben

Good places to find surplus rifles in Indiana?

Thanks for your advice guys. I went to go check out Bradis today. They had quite a few mosins, a few m47s and an m48, and a few pre-31 schmidt-rubin guns. Unfortunately the two or three guns I had in mind weren't present, with the exception of one that was in pretty rough shape. Oh well, I got...

Dan Wesson Revolver popularity and information in Indiana?

Yeah. The cylinder latch doesn't really bother me that much. I'd like to use it as a fun-gun and possibly for some sort of hunting at some point, so doing those Miculek rapid reloads isn't a priority. Besides, if you have to rapidly reload on 6 rounds of .445 supermag then your fate is already...

Good places to find surplus rifles in Indiana?

Howdy guys. I was hoping that you guys might be generous enough to help me out. I was wondering if you guys had any information on good places to hunt for surplus rifles, besides the classifieds of course. I was looking at trying to find 2 or 3 rifles in good condition or better, but I'd really...

Dan Wesson Revolver popularity and information in Indiana?

Howdy guys. Sorry for the vague title. I'm looking to get myself a DW revolver when I can find one I like and was wondering about a couple of things. I noticed that certain models go up for sale much less frequently then others and that certain features are more desirable. I found a link to...

      brightest flashlight?

As far as brightest EDC sized lights go, I'd look at Zebralight's new xhp series. They claim around 1300 lumens. The best performance out of a pocket sized (read single-battery) light is going to come from 18650 sized rechargable lithium battery based lights. If you're down to use a rechargeable...

Shotgun choke and steel shot compatibility

I'm not necessarily worried about what constriction is available/capable of steel shot. I've used chokes before and understand some of the physical limitations of their designs. I really meant that it seems like certain manufacturers have proprietary steel alloys or harder steels that make them...
