Is it ethical to hunt deer with a 223 or 5.56x45mm

I've taken two deer with .224 centerfires - one headshot at 65ish yards with an 80gr Amax at 2900fps+ muzzle velocity from a 223AI, terminal performance was "impressive". The other was a neck shot at a similar range with a 77gr Nosler Custom Competition at 2650fps+ muzzle velocity from an 18"...

BREAKING: Mid-air collision between two planes at an airshow in Dallas

Airboss briefing (or lack thereof) can certainly be a contributing factor...but PIC is ALWAYS "at fault". "See and avoid"

I have been reinforcing my decision to never again fly in an airplane.

So sorry to disappoint you... I have a number of episodes, and I'm quite familiar with a couple featured accidents. I'm not saying it is a "bad" show, it has surprisingly specific details at times and sometimes features very knowledgable SMEs. What I'm saying is it is a dramatic reenactment...

I have been reinforcing my decision to never again fly in an airplane.

The regional airline "pilot shortage" came about in part due to the requirement for all 121 pilots to have an ATP certificate. Even with the bonuses and substantial pay increases that fee-for-departure regional airlines are throwing around right now, an ATP or R-ATP is still required before...

I have been reinforcing my decision to never again fly in an airplane.

I generally let Hollywood influence my life decisions, too.

BREAKING: Mid-air collision between two planes at an airshow in Dallas

That's a pretty big claim given the stuff that gets posted here on a daily basis...but okay. You sure seem awfully defensive of Gryder for some reason. He's a retired airline captain, I'm an active airline captain. He's entitled to his OPINIONS and so am I, including my opinions of his...

BREAKING: Mid-air collision between two planes at an airshow in Dallas

Best parallel I could make is he's like a police officer who only shoots for his required qual talking about firearms. He knows the mechanics of how guns work, and has seen the ugly of how they can be used, but doesn't really understand the difference between gas vs. piston or hammer vs...

BREAKING: Mid-air collision between two planes at an airshow in Dallas

Gryder is a blowhard, the Youtube version of a political pundit when it comes to aviation.

BREAKING: Mid-air collision between two planes at an airshow in Dallas

The B17 crew were retired AA Captains, the P63 pilot a UAL Captain. All had tens of thousands of flight hours, including significant warbird/airshow experience. A horrible, horrible accident.

BREAKING: Mid-air collision between two planes at an airshow in Dallas

Every airshow has a pretty extensive brief for performers. Something went VERY wrong today, and I suspect it resided within the P-63.

10000x better than the end of a boring Mexican Grand Prix.

Antonov AN-124 Departed Indy Int'l Airport This Evening

The flight was operated by Antonov Airlines, a Ukranian cargo airline, under the umbrella of Antonov Design Bureau. The aircraft arrived at IND on Thursday from LEJ (Leipzig, Germany) which is a YUGE European air cargo hub as ADB332F. Leipzig is now the home of Antonov Airlines operations due...

AN124s get to the US pretty frequently...there's one at IAH with some regularlity that hauls oil field stuff. As to the one in Indy, I have no idea.

Ok truck guys, "murder board" my decision

A 2500 gasser probably gets better fuel economy than a Tundra does.

Ok truck guys, "murder board" my decision

I would personally never buy a HD truck unless I had a specific need for a HD truck. That being said, HD trucks today ride as well as half-tons 15-20 years ago. I'm surprised by your evaluation of the 3.5 with 10 speed, I thought that combo was smooooth and I'm a GM guy. Forced induction...

      Killing grass in rip rap

Glyphosate, applied low and directly onto the grass. Shouldn't hurt fish, but may hurt frogs or tadpoles.
