My 642 is an awesome gun to concealed carry but I've found that I can shoot my 43X way more accurate. That was really the deciding factor for me. I can sacrifice some concealment for better shot placement, granted I could practice to get more comfortable with the 642..
I've been looking into 9mm 1911's also. I've shot a Springfield Range Officer in 9mm quite a bit and it's such a fun gun to shoot. I was also impressed by the factory trigger.
Hey Marv, since my post count is lacking for now I'm unable to message you back. But I live by the store here in our little community, convenient at times :D
I won a glock 42 at a NRA benefit match last year and ended up trading it to my brother for a Sig 290rs. May have to look into the 42 again or wait for that single stack 9mm supposedly coming out soon.
I've been considering the glock 42 or a lightweight J-frame in a ankle holster. I really do like the idea of magazine compatibility since I carry a glock 23, but also carrying a glock 27 seems like a lot to me.
Hello everyone, I'm strongly considering carrying a smaller backup gun and just wanting some advice on what gun, placement, and holster, or even if there's a real need to carry a second handgun?:dunno: What do you guys think?
Thanks,
Lucas B.
