Oh hey, another 22lr, capitalism is evil thread.
^ These always crack me up. Oh, boo hoo - you might get stuck with ammo. Lots of folks will be happy to have a stockpile of ammo ;)
In any case, it's been fairly available for a couple months now. I saw 5 cases go on the shelf walking into...
Steel core 7.62x39 was banned decades ago, actually.
This affects only steel core imports, not lead core stuff. I'm not defending it - I think it's ridiculous. Just explaining it.
Per the ATF: Test, Examination and Classification of 7N6 5.45x39 Ammunition | ATF
This pretty much sucks....leaves 7.62x54R as the cheapest surplus import ammo available and I bet it even drives that price up.
Knew it was coming but hoped it wasn't.
Last .22 I bought locally was at Walmart in Southport. They put it on the shelf about 6:30pm that day and I happened to be walking in anyway.
Otherwise, it comes up with some frequency online from Cabelas.
I asked customer service if they still released ammo on the weekends as I was looking to get some 22. She said no - they just release it whenever they get it, and said nothing of releasing more today.
Thanks Gander Mountain!
You're almost definitely talking about Brass Kings.
He has some factory ammo as well as loaded ammo in clear plastic bags.
He's in exactly the spot you described.
You're quick.
I was there when he brought the cart out and was stocking the shelves. I was going to post it here, but I waited till my dad and brothers got some :)
Basically that entire writeup IS free market capitalism.
Market CONTROLS are not free market.
In any case, this has already happened with most calibers and .22 will follow. Eventually supply meets demand, assuming no government interference which isn't a given these days.
I like most of the cops I've come into contact to. Very few times have I felt they overstepped their bounds.
I also like many, if not most of the people I come into contact to. I just like people as a general rule of thumb.
It's still none of ANY of their business what I'm carrying.
^This.
The apps aren't going to be perfect no matter what unless Walmart's inventory system is perfect. A lot of times items will show stock when it wasn't even delivered. If it is never manually taken out of stock, it will show in stock.
Also, the "in stock" can mean in the store, scanned at...
