Alrighty so it looks a perfect clean record is pretty quick. Maybe 2 weeks max. However, if you have a record like mine with a blip on it, no matter how old (14 years for me), and even if it is a charge or arrest that would not affect this permit it looks like it adds anywhere...
I received this holster with the purchase of my G34. It might be compatible with other guns as well. Has room for items mounted on the rail.
The double retention is a saddle over the top that is released with a button to fold down then another button to release the weapon.
Please feel...
No I didn't do any fitting on the components that were already there. The fitting on the safety lug was fairly straightforward but my issue came with the left side not wanting to always seat so I had to get under the lug notch and round it a bit so it would catch easier. Basically when thumbing...
Hi guys,
When I got into shooting sports I started with a Colt 1911 Competition Series .45. I've since decided to do as much cosmetic modification as I can to it by myself because I broke the bank on it and I have a lot of fun tinkering with my stuff
I wanted to make a thread chronicling...
LOL. I have a G34 too so I'm part of the problem :n00b:
That said, I dig my 1911. I might move over to single stack in competitions. I've only been shooting a short time.
Sure thing. Thanks for the info
I'll grab a SS replacement soon. I am already about to make another thread to show...
5/28... Still waiting
Not at the 60 day mark yet but I did send an email. It was longer and more respectful but the gist went something like
"hey just checking on my app, I know it's first come first serve and we haven't broken 60 days yet but my local club requires a permit to use their...
Yeah it's plastic. I've only pulled the housing out twice and this is the top where the hammer strut presses down. Can't understand why it would crack after such little use. I'm hoping it's not something I did.
Yeah I was planning to replace it anyway with a SS version.
This is a new Colt 1911 Competition Series I picked up less than a month ago. It has probably 600 rounds through it (2 or 3 range trips) and this was the second time I detail stripped the frame (I was installing a new safety)...
Hi guys,
So I think my mainspring housing has a crack spidered down from the top on one side. It doesn't seem to go all the way through, doesn't seem to be causing an issue, and doesn't look like it is going to crack further.
I'll attach some photos of it. Is this concerning? Should I...
Interesting. I never thought about it like that. In my head, I would use it responsibly and the explosion wouldn't even touch any dirt. The problem there is we can't count on everyone to behave responsibly with explosives so I guess most ranges wouldn't allow that kind of thing.
Gotcha, I...
Appreciate the info. There's a huge market for firearms upgrading and I get that there's probably a huge helping of crap out there sitting in front of the quality stuff. Especially when it comes to trying to save money. If the G34 starts off that decent I think a good compromise for me will be...
I hear ya. The honest to God problem for me is I really want to be tacti-cool (for lack of a better term). I'm from a younger generation and there's nothing more fun to me right now than the thought of tricking out my firearms. Colored pin sets, attachments, comps. Hell I'm even going to do my...
I wholeheartedly agree. A WML/laser combo is on my list of upgrades for my G34. I'm surprised at the response you quoted. You have to use reasonable common sense as to the situations you might be presented with in our current environment. Yes, there can be many circumstances we face but the...
I'm still figuring that out. I prefer full size handguns so I've only shot anything with a barrel shorter than 5" once or twice. I love my 1911. Most comfortable gun I've ever held, even with my dainty, soft hands. Problem is, it is most definitely not very comfortable shooting .45 with it. It's...
Instead of a compensator I could start with maybe a heavy tungsten guide rod. I hear that buying one of those helps with muzzle flip.
Seen here.

I'm not sure. I know that some upgrades I pick will bump me into different divisions so that's actually going to be part of this conversation for me.
I learned a lot at the USPSA match on Sunday and am excited to continue but I still haven't really figured out what division I would like to...
Of course there's a million articles out there about upgrading your Glock but I thought I'd get some opinions from you guys for where to start.
I have a stock gen 4 G34 with the OEM adjustable sights.
With this G34 I plan to shoot as much steel challenge and USPSA as I can manage...
I'm not sure what a plain black Kent sight is (not experienced enough) but if it is a basic metal sight with a notch in it and you feel comfortable with a file maybe you could widen the notch in it a bit? You would still have the sight you've been practicing with and also get the benefit of the...
Hi guys,
My local shop has tannerite for sale and I was looking to try it out since I've never been able to do that before. I shoot at Fulton County Gun Club and at my local shop but neither of them allow it.
I was going to check at Warsaw Rifle and Pistol Club but thought I'd put the...
Yup that's what I bought. That helps quite a bit. I understand better now. Yeah my range doesn't like steel core ammo (and sells the brass casings) but I have another range close by I use that doesn't care what I shoot as long as the receiving end doesn't involve tannerite.
Gotcha...
