I have the lathe set up at a friends shop that has a 3 phase hook up. Say what you want about living by the railroad tracks but the 3 phase service is usually really easy to get if you live there.

I would keep my eyes open for a good Finnish mosin nagant (maybe m28, m38 etc.) There were quite a few of them that were rebuilt on old Russian M91 receivers and are considered antiques. Plus there is ammo available for them and they're really accurate.
