Best Bang for Buck AR rail...on a budget?

Your best bet is to get the rail with the upper. But if that ship has sailed you're going to pay much more in the long run.

The Right and Wrong ways of thinking about accuracy (warning: stats)

Most people just aren't going to take the effort to jump through all of those hoops. It just takes too much time. I always think of a 1" group as only missing the point that you are aiming at by 0.5", if you have the group centered where you are aiming. I shoot several 5 shot groups, with...

      300 blackout vs 308

Go put in the variables and figure it out. Handloads.Com Ballistic Calculator You can learn a lot for yourself if you experiment with the variables to see how much of a difference they make at various ranges. . . . Stock Up On Before Election

I just stocked up on 5.56 brass and bullets. Need to get a few K primers in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the reminder :)

      AR Triggers

I did the exact thing. Plenty good for a SHTF/fun-gun. I'm not shooting high-level HP competition, 3-gun matches for a living, or anything where I need to spend pounds of cash to try and squeeze out an extra ounce of performance.

      shotgun choice for home defense

You may want to buy a new gun...believe me, I've been there. But this seems to make the most sense to me: If you've been comfortable with the 12 all these years, keep it. Practice with light target or skeet loads (buy em, or better yet make your own to suit your needs) and load it up full...

      Attempted Kidnapping?

      Cannon gun safe locked out.

All of my electric keypad safes come with a key that opens it up should the batteries die. I'm surprised that anyone would buy an electronic safe that did not come with a back-up key system. Thanks for sharing.

      I was "made" CCing today.

Strange that she said stuff to you. I've spotted it many times, never said anything.

      Ruger customer service.

They've treated me VERY well with a couple different issues with rifles that I've had. I was extremely satisfied with the result.

CBS News Sunday - Guns And America

Yes...take away the taboo/curiosity of it. I've told my kids that ANY time they want to see/handle my guns, just ask and I'll gladly let them.

      9.3x74R

I have the same rifle, and I agree it is a push and not a punch. I shoot the same bullet at the same speed. The most accurate rifle that I have. I bought the CZ Kevlar carbine version in the same caliber as well. Mostly shoot cast bullets out of mine, but just got a couple hundred of the...

Removing/Storing my carry weapon in my car?

On a different computer and the pictures aren't coming through. That's a solid setup then.

Removing/Storing my carry weapon in my car?

I see that you removed the pictures of your setup (you'd posted 5-6 IIRC). Good thing that I kept the one showing the mounting, and where the un-holstered gun is pointing. The backing material of that car seat is made of 1/4" plywood or pressboard. I bet you "secured" your box with a few wood...

Removing/Storing my carry weapon in my car?

You can put the firearm in the safe with it still in the holster, as I do...it never needs to leave the holster. No sense wearing an empty holster. Nice strawman argument. Those backstops (floor with concrete below, or dashboard with engine block behind) are better than ANY other options...
