About when some of those new buyers figure out they're going to need more than the mag or two that came with the gun?
Seriously, I don't know the answer.
Personally, I made sure my mag supplies were in order back at the end of march, beginning of April. Wasn't a huge chore, and I do remember the...
Picked up 6 of those myself. Were a great buy while Killough had 'em They're all gone now.
Well, actually, I did see them at Target Sports but ... wait for it...they were going for $49.95. Frosted my azz...
If anyone is interested in bulk, CMP has their Eley CMP Standard at about $355 for a case of 5,000, which works out to about 7 cents per round.
Several guys at my club report good experiences with it, including a "high master" shooter who is a regular match winner.
I've ordered a case.
I think some guys who aren't buying guns during this time of inflated prices are sitting back right now and doing the mods, tuneups and other projects they had in mind for their current guns.
Rough time to be adding guns to the safe, but not a bad time to make sure everything's running just the...
Here's a standing gopher 100-yard target from a practice session today. I'd score it an 89. IIRC, correctly, the 6-ring and 7-ring hits were my first two shots and really pissed me off; then I took a breath, chilled out and got back to work.
No problem seeing hits at 100. Shooting paper, I usually use 16x to 18x at 100 and 20x at 200 and 250 (our club's longest berm).
Gun as you see it was super simple to "build." Dropping the 457 into the Oryx literally is a matter of two allen-head screws. I did add the maximum 4 buttstock...

CCI/Speer opened a new, dedicated rimfire ammo plant in August of '17. It was the first such new plant in the US in years.
I don't have a definitive source, but I've been told they are running as much as they possibly can right now ... which would make sense. And CCI/Speer -- part of...
I'm brand new to this and have so far shot 1 long gopher, 1 short gopher (paper matches) and this past Saturday's "20 straight" silhouette at Riley.
This is a good club to check out if you want to see what longer range .22lr shooting is all about. Very welcoming bunch, and they'll hope you get...
I'm brand new to .22s at longer ranges and got my new rifle & scope out for the first time on Saturday (target below). I then shot in one of the Riley Conservation Club matches (paper gopher targets at 110, 165, 200) on Sunday.
Had an issue or two with my holds and such and didn't do as well as...

But the common calibers will continue to be produced -- and given priority on the production lines -- exactly because there is a known and high demand for them.
Also, there's a reason they're common: For the less than specialized, they are useful, convenient and (relatively) inexpensive. That's...
If you've already bought some, I'd run some and put it on paper and see what you think.
If you're satisfied with the results on paper, should make a great hunting round. Eley's always had good QC.
I'm half laughing at myself; got several thou rounds of HV and my game has changed from plinking...
