      My thought of the day.

The world is full of them. Who knows, it may be us that are the goofs. Have you ever wondered how you are perceived by others? Seriously?

      I've heard of limber, but..

I have a hard time scratching my own back sometimes! That is bizarre.

Economy grows at 5.7 pct pace, fastest since 2003

Folks are still without work and losing everything that they've worked for. Honestly, those figures do not mean squat to a por man.

Poor Man's AR Build & Review

I agree and if it pleases you, well that's all that matters.

      Which make of 1911?

Boy did you open up a can. Ask the same about ARs and you get the same responses.I personally am hung up on Springfield. I'm dying for a factory loaded one. They ALL need to thank John Browning for the whole design.

      ported barrels

I'd just be leary of changing the ballistics due to altering the original config. It might pay to consult the factory.

Gotta tell about my new/old SIG I just got

I've been bitten by the SIG bug just in the last few weeks. It started with a WGerman P226 in nickel circa 1986 when there still was a West Germany and HAS to be one of the first imported to the US. I decided that I couldn't use that as a shooter so it sent me on the quest for one and here it...

Would your wife let you buy it?

If I JUT HAD to have one,I'd get one whether she liked it or not but it would be EXPENSIVE!! Half the land. Half the house.

      Poll for shotgun owners

These kind of threads make it hard when you have to play along with the terms. The pet is easy. That would be "Dude" my black lab. Shotgun? I have to choose between my Winchester '97 (1913 in "drop jaw" condition), Remmy 870 SuperMag and Ithaca 37 Deerslayer? I guess the Remmy cause it's the...

      Any 1911 10mm owners?

Here's my Colt Double Eagle 10mm with the original box, etc. Stainless. Of course that's the only way they came.

Gotta tell about my new/old SIG I just got

I was sitting in my FFLs shop today waiting to pick up a rifle. This older gentleman in front of me offered to sell him a SIG P228 (W.Germany) and he bought it. I gave him the "I want to look at it" look and after the gentleman left and after paying him $30 profit, I walked out with it for...

Went to the show just to look and a glock Followed me home

That's a great deal. I love my G22. Most people don't use the rail anyway. I've got one on mine and it's empty.

I grew up outside of Nashville in Hendersonville but I didn't have the "gun bug" then so I never even thought about gun stores. I CAN tell you that you need to make a trip down 2nd Ave.

Thanks. I have to say, honestly, this is the biggest welcome I've ever got from any forum I belong to. Anybody going to tell me what a Hoosier is?

Been to Evansville several times. Actually I've been to quite a few places in Indiana. I used to go to Logansport quite a bit too. I STILL don't know the truth behind the term Hoosier though.

Chris, My first job out of high school was selling new cars at Dean Stalling's Ford in Oak Ridge. My sister lives in Lenoir City not too far from where your sister lives.

They're just right up the road from me a little ways. We love the mountains too. They haven't gotten old yet after all of these years.
