Here's a nice Doe I took on 11/20 near Wolf Lake. First deer with the .500 sw Handi Rifle. about a 120yd shot. She ran a good 500 yards. almost lost her. the shot went through the ribcage and destroyed her liver, etc. couldnt believe she ran so far...never had that happen before. "shot placement...
Thanks for all the help. The factory H&R scope mount that was in the box only has 2 notches.Maybe they have updated them. Gonna go for it as is, and if it's too nasty, will get it ported.
Rhino, I just sent you a mesage, as I found your older post to sell your 500, then I switched over to my thread, and there you are! cool.....
thanks everyone for the info. can't wait to shoot this thing. ( I think) :rockwoot:
Ok, I had a weak moment at a gun show yesterday, and took home a Handi Rifle in 500 S&W. I am a 44 mag guy, but I had to have one of these. It was NIB and a pretty good deal. I mounted a Simmons 3-9X50 on it last night., because I had a spare sitting around. And I attached a harris bi-pod...
I got one in .44 / stainless a couple years ago in a trade. I love the gun, but others posting are correct. very tough to scope. my gunsmith says Square B makes a scout mount, but I believe it's discontinued. I am considering trading/selling mine for a ruger 77/44 or ruger carbine. I know...
I am interested. I lived on 82 acres before moving to IN 5 years ago. As previous folks stated, you can't raise cows and such and not live there. Planting corn, Etc. is somewhat "easy" but takes many thousands in equpiment. tractor, plows, discs, planting machines, fertilizer, weed killer...
I use Lee dies on my 550B and on a vintage Lyman turret. Right on about the adjustment issues on 'ol blue. otherwise it rocks. mostly I use the dillon as a one at a time press, just running one around the circle. I find I can really feel my work that way. Lee probably has a patent on the...
I'm a 300 pound man, so recoil is not a concern....but Bisleyman is correct. these can be loaded to whatever you prefer. The factory ammo wont provide the fireballs (in a short barrel) you have to buy the gun show variety milsurp ammo for that, or load your own with a fine granular powder...
Anyone ever try a scout scope on the M92 Puma? I acquired one in 44 a couple years ago in a trade, and would like to scope it for deer. Can't seem to find a scope mount for the rear dovetail.
This gun is stainless octagon. A tang is a consideration, but they are pretty pricey.
Maybe I...
yes, they do multiply in the gun safe... great gun for alot of uses. It will last your lifetime and a few others. I prefer the M38 and M44 ( with bayonet) They are a riot at an indoor shooting range. It usually shreds the targets along side yours.... Buy one and have fun!! ***Note...
