Why not just mock it up and see how high your scope needs to be over the rail? That is your best bet, honestly. You are going to have a hard time finding guys who are trying to get precision out of their AKs.
If I was looking for an optic in the $100 range, I'd spend $20-$30 more and get a 50,000 hour Holosun or Primary Arms red dot.
You could also skip the cheap optic because they are always a bad investment for multiple reasons and just go straight to a legitimately good optic. Personally, I...
Both. I wouldn't call them bad, but they aren't anything special. The one cool thing about the SLT is that you can put the rifle on safe when the hammer is in the up position. That's not a huge selling point for me, but I can see its appeal. I'm also not a huge fan of drop-in triggers. That...
I have tried multiple KE triggers and I can assure you with 100% confidence that they are nothing special. Personally, I'd recommend the LaRue MBT-2S. If you haven't tried one, give it a shot. You will not be disappointed... especially at the price point.
I was never hiding it.
Yeah! There is absolutely no reason for firearms enthusiasts within the U.S. to communicate and exchange ideas unless they are residents of the same state. How dare I join a firearms forum that is based in a state that is not one in which I am a resident. I don't...
haha
Thanks. This thread provided some good laughs for me as well. I enjoyed the engaging discussion.
Nope. With modern technology, FTF is no longer one's primary option for procuring a specific firearm.
Thank you, Sir. I will do my best to contribute.
I am a hardcore AK guy as well and much prefer the AK over the AR, but I have also started getting into ARs. I only care to own three brands of AR - PSA, LWRC, and PWS. For the money, a PSA is a no-brainer. They make an awesome rifle at that price point. Out of all of the PSAs I have owned...
Try rotating the rifle counter clockwise so that your charging handle is at 12 o'clock and charge the rifle with the pinky side of your hand (I'm assuming you are right-handed). You may like it. I also do the reach-around, going under the rifle. They both work. However, the first method I...
Kirk, you are good entertainment. Yeah, I had no idea that an AK could FTE until I bumped into you and this thread. You really are something. I have acknowledged that it is possible, but once again, you just lack reading comprehension.
Let me refresh your memory...

This is getting rather comical.
And yet you fail to understand that I know this and have never denied that AKs can FTE. Why do you keep repeating the same thing? This has been established multiple times in this thread, but yet, you keep posting as if I am in denial of AKs having the potential...
LOL. Love it.
By the way, Quirk... I mean Kirk, I am going to award you 10 additional INGO points since the word "trait" was used in the definition of the word "quirk".
Congrats!. You have earned a total of 20 INGO points by starting this thread.
Disclaimer: We may have to check with a...
No. Trait means trait. Quirk means quirk.
Quirk Definition: A peculiar behavioral trait.

Asperger's. Autism. Tantrums. And I'm the one having a meltdown. OK.
You can keep repeating that, but repetition will not...
Kirk, if you want to blame your errors and your student's errors on a specific "AK quirk" or "AK fine point" that, in reality, are not specific to the AK, but rather, potential issues that exist across all firearms, have at it, dude.
Let's Review:
Kirk and his inexperienced student decided to go to the range.
Kirk failed to teach his student before the range session, failed to properly observe his student during the range session, and also failed to instruct his student while his student was operating a firearm in which...
Uh oh, we have a 3,836 post badass on our hands...
I think we need to change the name of the thread to "Overthinking and Overcomplicating AK Safety Checks Because it is the Most Unique Rifle on Earth".
Yes. You are indeed incorrect. Just because there is a video of an AK failing to eject, it changes nothing.
It's a problem with any firearm, not just AKs.
Disagreeing with some is a tantrum. Interesting.
So, are you claiming that I denied that rounds can fail to eject in an AK? OK...
