I think the difference is that shooting steel requires little thought, whereas in USPSA it's good to be analytical until the buzzer goes off. The only decision to be made when shooting steel is the order you shoot the targets, but in USPSA you have to figure out the best way to shoot the stage...
An e-mail announcing their availability would be nice... or at least having the results uploaded to USPSA, which can be set up to send an e-mail notification whenever results with you in them are posted. The latter also has the added benefit of making the breakdown of A/C/etc. hits available.
The XD has returned from Springer Precision with an all-new trigger job that was done under warranty. The pre-travel is virtually non-existent, and reset is extremely short now. Now that is what I call good service!

If I remember correctly, the 23 is the compact .40. It won't be idea for USPSA, but it'll work. I know of at least one person who shoots one in USPSA. Something to keep in mind is that conversion barrels aren't legal in Production division, so you'd have to shoot it in Limited 10. At that...
