      A little from Democratic Underground

It sure is terrible to want to enjoy a ball game without having religious jingoism shoved in your face. Those guys should be ashamed of themselves! Take me out to the ball game is a better song anyway. :twocents: This place is just as bad, but on the other end of the spectrum.

"A Left Argument for Gun Rights"

As we all know, every politician strives to fulfill every platform goal. It's foolish to comdemn every Democratic candidate because their national platform is not supportive of gun rights. Blindly voting Republican or tossing your vote away by voting third party over guns in any but...

Indiana Members Credit Union got themselves a metal detector

The bank I had used for years was bought out a few years back, and they installed a metal detector and mantrap in my local branch. I disarmed once, then moved all accounts to a local credit union. Sent a letter explaining why to the bank, but I'm sure they didn't care.

Obama wants Marines to wear ‘girly’ hats

I looked at the hats in question and couldn't find a vulva on them anywhere. How exactly are they "girly?" They're ugly as heck, sure, but so were the old ones. edit: Plenty of "professionals" have uniforms provided to them. I agree that impractical dress uniforms and hats are a silly...

      Another South Bend home invasion...

Sounds like business as usual. I wonder how many of these home invasions are drug-related. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case here, but it sounds like the perp wasn't exactly Omar given that he ended up on a slab instead of making off with cash and drugs.

Please do not EVER do this. Ever. And I mean EVER.

That Glock isn't clean at all, it just looks that way because anything would look good when compared to the 1911 in the OP. The serrations on the 1911 I posted are more evenly done than the other one, but that is the only reason they're less ugly. There's no practical purpose whatsoever to...

Please do not EVER do this. Ever. And I mean EVER.

Those are ugly, but I'm sure they work. Although I wouldn't buy that thing I'm glad it exists because it's funny to see people overreact. Heck, hideous slide serrations aren't even all that uncommon:

      Who's right? Anyone?

Charge both the boyfriend and the ex-husband. And the wife for getting involved with a couple of idiots. The only innocent here is the dog.

13 year old boy gunned down by deputies...

The statement is evidence, but it's not necessarily fact. This is the point I believe 88GT is trying to make.

Thanks for elevating the tone of discourse around here, guys. :yesway:

More proof. Heading for my bunker now.

Atlantic ocean earthquake a false flag nuke attack?

Obviously part of the cover-up. Open your eyes to the truth! :tinfoil:

Where does pacifism come from? Dealing with a murderer by talking to them<video>

This is a terrible analogy. The premise of pacifism is that it is immoral to take a human life. The ones I know are deeply religious people rooted in the Anabaptist tradition who would sooner die than raise a hand in violence. It's not the path I've chosen, but I respect their beliefs. I have...

      Newest little bundle

Congratulations! If she's your first say goodbye to sleep for a while, but she's well worth it.

So-called "republicans" in the House that voted with the democrats:

Whether you think there should be Federal involvement in road construction is immaterial; by driving on those roads you are depending upon the Federal Government. By using any government-funded resource or service you are depending upon the government. You wouldn't be posting here without the...

Another "victim" in the "lost" war on drugs.

I abhor violence unless absolutely necessary. Objecting to people being thrown in jail and having their rights curtailed for smoking a little dope is not remotely comparable to approving of the cartels' murderous tactics. Frankly, that is either a non sequitur or simply a disingenuous argument...

KUHNER: The Tea Party’s coming vindication

The Left has its share of hacks and gasbags too. Objection to one positon isn't necessarily an endorsement of its opposition. I always forget to turn off that awful link autoparser. There are forums with worse code (slashdot and reddit come to mind), but this one is definitely scraping the...

KUHNER: The Tea Party’s coming vindication

One trick pony, ain't he? I was unfamiliar with him until I looked him up just now, but he seems an inconsequential partisan hack. It's always amusing when people with no education in economics blather on about things they don't understand. :): Articles by Jeffrey T. Kuhner KUHNER: The Tea...

Another "victim" in the "lost" war on drugs.

If true the guy was a moron. But that doesn't excuse ruining lives over non-violent drug offenses.

      Tea Party holding America hostage?

This is just as dumb as that petition to deport Morgan. Lesson: Ignore petitions.
