      What makes the Loaded worth a hundred dollars more than a Garrison? I'm sure there are some up grades but I'm just not familiar enough with either to know. If I choose one or the other it will most likely be my only 1911. I've wanted one for years and finally decided to go for it. Merry Christmas !!

      I found my dream deer rifle a little over a year ago, a really nice 81 year old Remington 141 in 35 caliber. Its not drilled for a scope and won't be as long as I have it. If I need a scope I'll use my old Marlin 336 Texan also in 35. An old timey woodsman friend used a 141 when I was a kid and...

      In 1965 or '66 I ordered a P14 Enfield from Kliens in Chicago for $19, I really wanted a M17 Enfield 3006 but they were $10 dollars more and my dad had all the stuff to reload 303. In a week or so the UPS guy delivered a M17 Eddystone for the same price as the P14. There was a note in the box...

      New to me old rifle with cosmetic issues

      I have a pristine 1940 Remington 141 on the way. Someone has high lighted the stamping on the barrel and receiver with what appears to be white paint. How can I safely remove it without damage to the nearly perfect bluing?
