      the only true portable unit is the Humminbird Fishin Buddy. I have the 120 model, side scanning, but BW screen. It runs on 6 AA batteries i think, and its all in a self contained unit. Just carry the mounting bracket and the sonar/display unit. It works well, doesnt chart while on the move too...

      Question on fish possession

      i go with the double zip locks filled with enough water to cover the filets. I wont use them after 6 months, but Im pretty sure that they are fine. Thaw them out in the fridge, only under cold tap if you are in a hurry.
