I built my .300 BLK in a 7.5 pistol barrel & I was surprised how accurate it's. I can keep a softball sized pattern at 100 yards even with my bad eyes. It is a great light weight deer killer too with 2 does down I hated puting it down for my heavy muzzleloader.
With the changes coming to...
I think you missed the part of the rule book that says, "The handgun must not be a rifle that has a barrel less than 18 inches or be designed or redesigned to be fired from the shoulder."
That is what the brace does it redesigns the pistol to be fired from the shoulder.
But if they do allow it...

I bought a mil-surplus Romanian M1969 trainer teach my kids to shoot, it is a great gun for teaching kids to shoot & they get a history lesson too.

The PSL with the thin barrel is prone to barrel whip & you can't shoot heavy ball ammo through them because of being over gassed. It will tear them up if you do. Mine has a problem with heating up as you shoot, at 100yds it will hit zero on the...
He was lucky that he was holding the mag because it would have taken his hand off otherwise.
If you see the way these guns are rebuilt in the middle east you could see how something like this can happen.
My guess is it was a squib load fired full auto or a way overly hot load that destroyed this...
No it won't hurt anything on most AKs. The AK is built tough, I have dry fired a few of my builds for hours at a time trying to wear in the FCG.
On most AKs the firing pin goes forward when you release the bolt carrier, so all the hammer hits is the back of the bolt stem.
