As I mentioned elsewhere, had the "carry gun" match yesterday with interesting results. It is now a week of hard work leading up to the Indiana State match this weekend. Tonight was fundamentals getting back with my current main match and carry gun.
Started with Double Add 1 on B8 because...
That is fine (sorta) if you are only using that as training wheels that eventually you want to grow out of. Otherwise it somewhat defeats the purpose of having the dot.
There were 3 or 4 of us out of 40. I don't feel terrible about it, my point is that even for someone like me who makes sure to practice with the small gun (although not as much as with my big ones) performance does suffer. I so often see people make the comment that my micro blaster shoots just...
Someone else wanted to hear about that as well. I haven't got a larger mag yet but will do that before I do the comparo between this gun and my 365XL as soon as match season ends.
The 6 reasons why you should from the video
1) Test under pressure.
2) Performance comparison (see what a good shooter looks like)
3) Competition breeds greatness
4) Gear shakeout
5) Exposure to good ranges
6) FUN
All of these are legit reasons but I was again today reminded of number 4. I shot...
I guess I am thinking of my own situation where I am indeed shooting them no more than 10 yards. I see you're point though I am not putting an actual scope on a handgun unless it is a large big game pistol. To each there own I guess.
I have one around here somewhere. I tried it out, no real problems but not what I wanted for a defensive or competition pistol, I think it would be fine for what you are looking for.
We are talking about a pistol dude. People shoot very precisely with 5 and 6 MOA dots on pistols all of the time. That is still much smaller than iron sights.
Took the Canik MC9 out for a short session tonight. I plan on shooting it in a carry gun match this weekend.
Started with the Double Add 1. First run was a 7/10 on the 3X5 but followed that up with a 9/10. Not bad.
Went to the Rangemaster SCAT test after that and ended up with a 132 score...
I wrote Lucas off at first as just another insta/youtuber and didn't bother. After the broohaha with him and that goofball Frogman tactical threatening him and then Matt Pranka saying good stuff about him I checked out his content. It is good stuff and I would have no problem recommending him...
Started with 2 runs of Double Add 1 on a 3X5. Both were 8/10. The 2 misses were very close to the card, but they were misses .
Sometime during the week I saw a reference to the Blowers Hateful 8 drill and I couldn't remember if I have run it before or not. It seems like 8 seconds is plenty of...
So I was able to get the individual string times and it is even more apparent there that at least on the first two strings I was a good 1/2 to 3/4 of a second slower than I should have been.
