      What handgun do you carry?

      One of two if not both on me. I carry a Kahr P380 most of the time (pocket carry) and sometimes I add a Glock 36 when I want a larger firearm with me. With that said the vehicle I drive has a Glock 23 inside it all the time no matter what I carry on my person.

      Problematic S&W M&P15?

      To me it sounds like the Mags are not seating correctly in the rifle. You stated the bolt did not lock back and that the bolt also closed without feeding a round in the chamber. To me I would start with Mags and see if they are correctly seated in the rifle.

      Accuracy between 1911s and revolvers

      I would say for self defense distances that it would not really matter that as long as you buy quality they both would work. I also believe that a revolver is the most accurate handgun there is.

      I can't choose between this or the Kahr P380. That is how I found this site looking up reviews on the two different firearms. I don't know how I made a decision before the Internet. Good luck on finding one.
