You want to look for polish that is ammonia free for ammo brass. The ammonia is hard on Zinc (a component of brass) and too much can eventually dissolve it away. Most ammo polish is ammonia free, just check if it's not specifically for ammo casings
... ditto checking the underneath side to see how tight the primer seat is or not. I sometimes also have to hit it with a little one-shot and use a punch to make sure it is moving smoothly up and down. Just move the arm a little to feel if it is moving. Whenever things bind up on an up-stroke of...
Nice looking bench, but I'm way too messy for a carpeted top. I'd have so much spilled powder all over the top it would be declared a EPA Superfund site

I looked thru the member info and Eric is not a INGO'er as far as I can tell, just go Sat and talk to him in person at ACC ;)
Unfortunately I can't be there, I *have* to drive to Florida for the week.
If you make it to one of the ACC steel shoots, you should be on Eric's email list. He usually sends out a notice the week of the shoot. If I see one, I'll forward the info on...
I use a fair bit AA #5 and had this problem with brand new equipment. It seems after some use it went away. hmm, I'll have to remember the dryer sheet treatment if it comes back.
I was a senior in college at ONU in Ada, Ohio. It snowed and blew so hard I had small amounts of snow coming in around my bedroom window. We rented a student housing-type apt house... you know, 90+ year old creaky house, single-pane windows, no insulation. What an adventure, No class for over a...
The nearest outdoor range is Atterbury. Take SR-46 east to I-65, turn north then get off at the SR-31 N exit. Take SR-31 N to Hospital Rd, turn left and the range is about half mile on the right. About 45 miles from B-town
Sheesh, spent primers on the floor? I have a Bonanza (Forster) Co-ax and a Hornady LNL and both have tubes that deliver spent primers directly into a container. Never on the floor. I'm thinking anything else must be bad design :D
If you like books like me, look for "The Balisong Manual" by Jeff Imada (c1984) It has all kinds of manipulations, carry info and defensive fighting techniques. Also a lot of pictures of 'balisong' butterfly knives. I found the book at the 1500 a year or two ago.
Just what I do for 9mm and 45acp, except would add "repeat steps #3to#6 until the cases split". Brass can be reloaded an amazing number of times before this happens.
ditto on the Amerc stuff, just pitch it. Not worth the trouble it causes. I can not get a primer seated in this stuff. Sometimes...
I shoot lots of steel with 147 grain 9mm, (also IDPA) It really pops the poppers and shoots pretty soft compared to the 115 grain white box stuff. I mostly use Precision Delta copper jacketed 147 grain with 5.0 grains Accurate Arms No. 5. The free Accurate Arms pdf pamphlet has this load listed...
I found one in a Dayton, OH pawn shop for $18 about 30 years ago. It was so cool and obviously hand-made. I'd never seen anything like it before. The shop owner said it pawned by a Vietnam Vet who claimed it was made in the Philipines. The blade was supposedly ground from a truck axle and...
If you are really interested in John Browning, I recommend the book "John M Browning American Gunmaker; An Illustrated Biography of the Man and His Guns", by John Browning (JMB's oldest son) and Curt Gentry, published by Browning c1964. I have the 10th printing from 1991. It is a very good read...
I know there are shot timer apps for the iPhone (free) and the Droid (ShotClock, $0.99). Better go check it out! What better reason to have a smart phone than for it to also be a shot timer. :D
