We are lucky to have some of the trainers stopping in here. Would it be worth pushing away an amazing instructor to weed out people pushing their wares?
More regulation = less freedom. I'm not going all "muh rights" here but even Coach isn't a site sponsor. The margins on training companies...
I haven't been to MDOC. I have been to ECQC.
Looking over MDOC it looks very similar down to having the same sweep taught in class posted in the event picture. The big difference was having 3 experts roving around giving pointers, maybe?
I generally don't enjoy typing my thoughts anymore but in the interest of making this community (INGO) better as a whole I'll give it a try.
Who: Paul Sharp, Cecil Burch, Larry Lindenman
What: From the description, "Dealing with an entanglement, whether standing or on the ground is one of the...
I opted for the SCAR because:
1. Under 8lbs.
2. Holds MOA
3. Still compact enough to be workable.
4. Gas piston.
5. Left side charging.
1. Every time I shoot long range I have to carry the rifle through the woods to the location. Heavy rifles are terrible when adding the rest of my range...
Amanda Kalman teaches the classes at Blythe's and she does a great job. She has taken over The Well Armed Woman chapter of NWI as well.

Very true!
If we exclude greetings, politics, and sales the break room has more posts than all of them. More than all of the gun, gear, training, hunting, legislation, events, knives, SHTF, shooting sports, reloading, etc. combined. If posts on INGO was a random sample of gun owners, the...
You do have training in NWI from Infinity Solutions. Recently a Valpo firefighter put on a "stop the bleed" class and had a ton of IS alumni there. Lots of options in NWI as well.
The interesting thing is the tactics and training forum is 29 times smaller in posts than the break room.
I'm only putting magnified optics on my rifles bigger than 5.56 at this point as I usually use a red dot out to 300 for MoM shooting. As the targets get into the 4,5,600 range the reticle is too small on a FFP scope to shoot on low power. After using an ACOG for a class I grew a distaste for...
1-8x is great but only because 1-20x doesn't exist. Going with a 1-4 makes no sense when there are 1-8 scopes out there IMHO.
I have a trijicon 1-8x and it is great from 1-400 for me so far.
1. The heat is terrible. I can't stand VFGs but they are a must if you are going to shoot this much. Gloves are a must to at least have around.
2. Shoot with your mouth closed. Also buy quality ammo. I've had cheaper ammo turn into an ammonia capsule.
3. Beware of leg burns when it gets...
Excellent response.
How can someone decide what schools are bad at teaching? Where do the Haley, Fisher, McNamara, Costa, Petty, Sharp, Aprill, Douglas, Chapman, Hendricks, McPhee, Reston, Gonzales, etc. etc. etc. fit into the pathway?
Your path of RR, ACT, TR seems like a very fluid one...
