Tickets are now on sale for the Marty Brown Memorial Open Round #1 to be held June 27th at the A&A Optics range near Richmond, IN. This event (along with the Marty Brown Memorial Invitational to be held in Nov) honor the memory of Marty Brown, a rifle instructor with Revere's Riders who lost a...
Revere's Riders will be running another of it's "Battle Road Biathlon" events on June 6th at the Bedford Contingent Range in Bedford, IN: https://www.reveresriders.org/event/2020-jun-6-bedford-in/

Thanks for the post, Snowdrifter. We've been curtailing our events due to COVID-19, but are now able to conduct events fairly normally with the relaxed restrictions on the size of public outdoor gatherings. I just had surgery for a herniated disk 2 weeks ago, so that didn't help either...

The feelings are mutual Obijohn. Last year was a success by all measures and we are looking forward to this year's Pistol 145 and the new Pistol 209 defensive pistol courses.
If you have a firearm for self-defense purposes (and probably if you just own a firearm, period), you will be...
Pistol 100 is a SUGGESTED prerequisite; Obijohn outlined the alternative standards for evaluating if you are ready to take this course. If you can satisfy those requirements (with an emphasis on being SAFE with your pistol), you should be good to go.
We are working on finalizing our 2020...
I wasn't implying that the Kriss NEEDED a new barrel, just that if you wanted to swap it out you could with a 10/22 barrel with minor modifications. The Tippman uses a proprietary barrel from I can tell.
I'm sure either Allen Moore or Brett Havlin could easily handle modifying a 10/22 barrel to fit the Kriss (looks like it is pretty minor machining work).
Volquartsen is definitely pricey. I only mentioned them as they were the only source I could quickly find for a 10/22 tension barrel; there may be other suppliers of tension barrels at lower cost that I didn't come across...
The Tippmann M4-22 description says that it has a "composite" free float handguard. I take that to mean it is some kind of polymer/plastic. I would consider that a negative for the Tippmann as compared to the Kriss which has an alloy handguard. The metal handguard will likely flex less that the...
That might be an "off the shelf" option if you don't want to customize. Note that you're getting the Ruger BX trigger ($90), a "tension barrel" (Ruger doesn't appear to sell this barrel separately; a Volquartsen tension barrel goes for >$300) and an upgraded stock (again, Ruger doesn't appear to...
You’ve got to try a particular load in YOUR rifle to know if it is any good. That said, some ammo typically works better than others and you can use that as a guide to selecting loads to test.
I would suggest going to KIDD for pretty much all of the above:
skip the trigger job and just get the KIDD single stage trigger ($200, more money but it is a VERY nice trigger)
includes the mag release and auto bolt release
plus it is a "drop-in" trigger (no taking apart the stock trigger...
This is good advice! The accuracy of most rifles will vary with the ammunition used due to both the quality of the ammunition as pblanc points out above but also just due to the tendency of any given rifle barrel to prefer a specific bullet velocity, bullet contour (how the bullet engages the...
Deuce,
Just curious if the NF mount (it smells like money, right?), the Bobro mount (me likey and absolutely reeks of money!) and a Wilson Combat mount (also smells like money, right?) didn't work out for you, what did???
Anybody else get a snail-mailed solicitation to sign a "Constitutional Carry Petition" and a request for a donation from an org going by the name "Hoosier Gun Rights"?
I don't pretend to know all the gun rights orgs out there, but I have never heard of this one. Their website...
Here's an old trick to get around this BS. Order another one online and have it shipped to your house (same model, same color). When it arrives, keep it (assuming it isn't busted like the one you have now), put the busted one in the box and return it via whatever procedures HF has for a refund...
