      110 grain standard pressure 38?

I have abandoned the 110 and 125 bullets in snubbies because of lack of penetration and iffy expansion in favor of Speer 135 gr Gold Dots. These seem to work very well indeed .

      best 22 target pistol

which 22 ? I have two Ruger , one Smith 22a and two Marvel converted 1911's. For plinking any of the first ones are o-k. For any serious target work jump right to the Marvel. They offer a standard length and a longslide version. Absolutely fantastic 50 yard accuracy.

Sig Sauer .40 2SUM vs Sig P220 Compact

decisions, decisions Either one is suitable for almost any task. I tried the polymer Sig and did not tike the way it felt, kinda top heavy and light weight. Ended up with a pair of Sig P245 pistols, the precursor of the 220 compact but without the beavertail. The 245 shoots GREAT and carries...

      Refinishers that do hard chrome?

Hard chrome I beleive Ron Mahovsky's SS MetalLife finish is the hardest, most abrasion resistant finish possible on a handgun. Prices are decent, service is superb.

      Lead for casting

Lead from batteries I beleive the melting of lead from batteries is not very harmful in and of itself. When you let the scrapings, dross, and removed material cool it will draw moisture. This moisture causes stabine and other gasses to be released. This is the same gas used to fumigate for rats...

How horrible is the stock CZ 75B trigger?

CZ 75 trigger My CZ 75 Compact has a MUCH more refined trigger right out of the box than my son's P226 after a thousand rounds. The CZ is almost too light in single action. I find myself doing double taps if I don't concentrate. I think there are good and bad in all maker's lineup. I must have...

      Lead for casting

Second that on car batteries. Strongly suggest you take that advice and steer clear of car batteries. Bad , Bad things happen.

What other choices do I have instead of a 338 Lapua.

How 'bout ? How about 30-338 Win mag ? Readily available brass, bullets , and excellent downrange performance. 200 +gr high Bc bullets at or around 3000 fps should do the trick.

      Lead for casting

Lead sources ? Print shops, tire places, auto repair shops,heating/refrig/a-c contractors, city utilities for lead pipe, garage/yard sales, and word of mouth. ....... use your imagination! I have placed ads in local paper. No results from 3 different ads.

What are your thoughts on Sig 220 vs 1911

220 or 1911 ? I own and shoot several varieties of both . The 220 is actually "Commander" size but feels larger than "Government" size. Both systems shoot and function equally well. I suggest trying both and then decide.

      Hello From Near Bippus

Greetings from the Bippus area. New to this forum, but not new to the shooting sports. I am an avid shooter , bullet caster , and an amatuer violin maker having only made 4 violins, 3 cellos, and one viola to this point. Really enjoy teaching new people how to shoot and handle firearms safely...
