Rock Island 1911, 9mm GI government length model. Comes with one Checkmate magazine, factory hard case, factory smooth grips, some checkered wood ones I've installed for better grip, and a Fobus paddle holster, plus a relatively nice inside the...
Most of the ones I've seen for sale have had less than a box of ammo through them.
Every one I shot was actually relatively controllable, but the flinch factor was massive. Some nerds were having issues with "doubling" because the recoil impulse, if uncontrolled, would make their trigger...
H&R Made, usually .22 Short. Neat guns, won't fetch huge prices because of their mass produced nature but they are nice family heirlooms.
Whenever I read the book Laddie (about the Limberlost region of Indiana, Ohio, back when it was all swamp), I always thought of him packing one of those...
LOL Kirk, there's nothing about unintentional in the news story. There's no safety issue, just a issue of mental imbalance.
Should have read: Nutcase opens fire in gun-free zone, be careful out there, concealed means concealed, etc...
It's going to be a LOOOOOONNNNGGG time before you get it back. The trial has to clear completely and that can take years in some cases. Just write it off and consider it a surprise when you get it back (and hopefully, but not likely, in reasonable shape, police evidence lockers aren't known...
I mean this with upmost respect to you and your local 'smith, sent it back to the manufacturer. Why should you spend money on the smith, who is going to charge for inspection, then maybe try to rechamber or polish the chamber, charge you again, when the mfr is the one responsible for the poor qc?
A complicated gun that got a bad rap from WW1 mud that cause nearly ANY weapon to malfunction! I think it's a great design that would have been on par with the Garand, and with a better cartridge (7x57 is a real performer even today).
I guess to agree to disagree: Glock introduced GAP to provide a standard grip frame with a .45 caliber cartridge, but Glock was hedging bets that the AWB would be permanently signed into law at the end of it's sunset. It wasn't signed back in and with the collapse of the draconian law, Glock...
GAP was a complete screw up that was VERY noncompetitive and niche for the political climate at the time in the US. It wasn't killed because of something like an expensive platform (Desert Eagle), hard to carry platform (Desert Eagle) or lack of reloading support. GAP was killed because of the...
Primers in that ammo aren't hard. As M67 said, clean the heck out of that firing pin and FP channel. Compressed air and solvent kind of cleaning, and almost to barely any lube when reassembling (don't want it to clog back up).
Looks like chamber pressure on the .429 is 46k max, whereas .44 Mag is 36K max.
I'm thinking really thick web for pressure. .44 Mag is looking at 37.9gr H20 capacity where I could only find something similar to .429, the defunct .440 Corbon, which is similar, at 50.5gr H20 capacity.
So...
The rimless and bottlenecked design should alleviate some of the areas for some failures to feed with DEs. The rims and long, straight walled cartridges (plus magazines that have to be SO well tuned to ensure that the round doesn't nose dive into the frame) make it more likely for jams to...
GONE!
Two holsters for sale, prefer to ship (and pricing should be VERY fair for that), Paypal Gift preferred. Both are right handed.
Desantis Thumbstrap holster, black with basketweave pattern, barely used condition! No packaging, just the holster. $15 shipped

RM has some things that Ruger skipped on the first gen LCP (metal trigger, nicer, shorter trigger pull, etc...) The RM has supposedly had the kinks worked out and is not a bad piece.
That being said, I've had two different LCPs and even without metal triggers, they were very easy to use, FAR...
