I did something I told myself I would never do.
I traded off one of my M1 Garands. Got a Henry H010BG in 45-70 with a Nikon scope, mount, rings and covers with two boxes of Hornady 325gr ammo.
Haven't shot it yet but sure is puurty.
I just used it on an old 1917 barrel I had laying around. It had been repurposed and parked after the great war. It goes on clear and turns brown as soon as it gets in contact with the grime.
Caution, never use Scotchbrite with it unless you want to take it to the white.
Yes, with the aid of a soft brush like an old tooth brush. The brown is just a combination of dirt and oil (gun and hand). this stuff melts it off without hurting the finish.
If you can get your hands on some "Blue Wonder Rifle and Bore cleaner" it will melt that off like magic and not hurt the wood. It takes off anything but bluing and it will amaze you.
No one could get their mind around how many youthful lives have been molded by any one of these firearms. All are benchmarks, you are a lucky well loved man...
Guns make a foreign invasion less likely to happen or succeed if it does happen. China owns Biden. I am convinced all the bridge construction is to insure they will hold up a Chinese tank before the tanks themselves fall apart on their own.
Call me crazy but I am going with this theory until...
Barrels were the hardest to come by. Do you think it could have been a remanufactured earlier piece when my GG grandfather got it? I mean if the plate broke they would have other ones of the same pattern about for replacement...
He was Irish, ok? Try to tell and Irishman what he has to buy. They still make them today so I am guessing they were then also.
Maybe they were reenacting the Civil War...
All I have is and old Navy Arms replica. It is old enough to not have all those black powder warnings stamped on it.
The bore looks "ify" but it does shoot well despite the visual.
There was a tray of old cylinders, both .36 and .44's at Friendship this year marked "$10 each" but I wasn't in...
My family were very frugal, he wanted something that would shoot all the supplies he had left over from the flintlock. So he got a .45cal percussion cap and all he lost use of were his flints. It was the only gun he had so he used it on both small and large game.
I was lucky enough to have a...
My friend had a Maynard .22cal with optics that was made just for the snipers back in the war to end northern aggression. He has since passed and I have no idea what happened to it.
He took it to a show once and the dealers marveled over it. It obviously wasn't chambered in a modern .22cal...
